Will Clint Eastwood Make Newcastle Brown Ale’s Day?
The Man with No Name is set to have his name and face on bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale to celebrate the drink’s upcoming 80th birthday.

Hollywood filmmaker and actor Clint Eastwood is a longtime fan of the British booze and Newcastle Brown chiefs would want his tough guy features to adorn limited addition anniversary bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale.
Known popularly as ‘The greatest of Ales’, ‘The Drink of Gods’ and the drink for those who want a ilttle bit more ‘bang for buck’, Newcastle Brown Ale is famous for its nice initial tastes and after tastes in the beer drinking community. It’s also Clint Eastwood’s favourite beer, who even had crates of it shipped out to Africa when he was on location filming White Hunter, Black Heart.
Newky’s popularity has never waned. A staggering 216 million pints are now produced a year and more than 40 countries import it in bulk, the biggest buyer being the US, where it is the No.1 selling imported ale.
And the list of local devotees include Geordieborn soccer legend Paul Gascoigne and Auf Wiedersehen Pet actor Jimmy Nail. And Daniel Craig was slurping Newcastle Brown long before he sipped vodka martinis as the suave Bond.
Brewery spokesman Doug Cook says, “Clint is a massive fan of the drink. Having his face on the bottle would be a real eye-catcher.”
Kim Basinger: Aging at Bay
Coty Inc. named Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger to be the face of a new Lancaster skin care line. yet another testimony to the fact that true beauty never fades way.
The 53-year-old will represent the new skincare line, which Cooty calls the “anti-ageing expert,” in their new ad campaigns worldwide (except in the United States).
Basinger’s new gig takes her back to her cover girl roots, as the former Breck girl in the 70s, as shown in this 1972 ad featuring Ann & Kim Basinger (below left). If you supersize the graphic you’ll find that Kim “was the winner of Breck’s annual Hairstyling Contest which is a special feature of America’s Junior Miss Pageant.”
Glamorous then, glamorous now. Thank goodness some things don’t change.
Jennifer Aniston Gets Smarter
In a move touted as Jennifer Aniston working her way to popularity following a rather failed film efforts, she is closing a deal with Glaceu, the makers of luxury brand SmartWater.

Insiders say it’s just a matter of time before Jennifer storms with strong inroads with Glaceu’s strong worldwide avertising campaign for SmartWater, the “electrolyte enhanced” water drink.
Aniston, according to Usmagazine.com, Jennifer will promote the ‘pure’ water drink in ads with the slogan “water that’s the envy of all water.”
A source told usmagazine.com told that the 38-year-old star “has a clean image and that’s smartwater’s whole image, so she’s perfect for it.”
While representatives for Aniston and SmartWater have yet confirmed the report, it may be recalled that the ‘Along Came Polly’ actress has starred in advertisements for Heineken beer and Lynx deodorant in the past.

Gemma Launches La Senza Sensuals
Hollyoaks babe Gemma Atkinson is launching the new spring/summer range of La Senza in a sizzling advertising campaign that begins this week.
In her first major modelling assignment, Gemma, 22, shows how much she has grown up as she fronts the new La Senza collection.The 34F bombshell shows off her assets in La Senza lingerie and swimwear–putting her enhanced bust to good use.
“I was really excited when La Senza asked me to be their model,” said Gemma, who’s more accustomed to stripping for men’s magazines.
“It’s fantastic to be wearing pretty girly lingerie for once and I think people will really see the girly side of me as the underwear is so gorgeous and colourful.
“I can’t wait to see myself in shop windows - and I think my friends and family will get a nice surprise when they are out shopping too as I haven’t really mentioned the campaign!”
Since launching her parallel career as a glamour model, Atkinson has appeared in campaigns for lingerie and swimwear, including non-nude shots for men’s magazines such as Arena, FHM, Loaded, Maxim, Zoo Weekly and Nuts. In October 2006 she was considered one of the most prolific celebrity glamour models in the UK.

Jason Lewis is making women melt as the new face of Aero chocolate bars in an ad set to send temperatures soaring.
The senastional hunk, who also appeared in the infamous Absolut Vodka ad, has three films due out this year, including The Life And Death of Bobby Z with Laurence Fishburne, and Mr Brooks starring Demi Moore and Kevin Costner.
About the Aero campaign, Jason said, “Being from California I’m used to hanging around half-naked on a beach, so I had no problem shooting the ad – in fact coming to London to eat chocolate was a great job.”

Word is around that beauty giant Estee Lauder is in talks with Reese Witherspoon about becoming its newest face, which would mean the 31-year-old joining the ranks of Gwyneth Paltrow, Carolyn Murphy, Liz Hurley, and, most recently, Hilary Rhoda.

Stetson Ropes in Tom Brady
NFL superstar Tom Brady, known as much for his throwing arm as for his good looks, will also be known as the face of Stetson fragrances, the flagship men’s fragrance line of Coty, Inc.
The New England Patriots’ quarterback, who was chosen to represent the brand for his rugged sophistication and athleticism, will appear in print and TV ads slated to launch in September. The deal runs for two and one-half years.
A California-native, Tom Brady defines the passion, pride and masculine spirit of the Stetson man, Coty said.
“His allure extends off the football field and he is widely known for his distinctive masculinity and irresistible character,” said Coty Chief Executive Officer Bernd Beetz.
Coty Beauty’s portfolio of brands includes Adidas, Aspen, Baby Phat, Celine Dion, David and Victoria Beckham, Desperate Housewives, Esprit, Jovan, Nautica, Shania Twain and others.

Preity Zinta is GoAir’s ‘Fly Smart’ Icon
Bollywood cutie Preity Zinta will bolster GoAir’s new campaign ‘Chalo India, Lets Fly Smart’. Her instinctive style, liveliness and fun loving youthful nature are expected to highlight the core attributes of the airline.
Announcing Preity as its brand icon, GoAir’s MD Jeh Wadia Thursday said it was the first in its class to “appoint a Bollywood actress” to that position. “The dazzling, gorgeous, charming” Preity personifies what the brand stands for – energetic, fun, stylish and youthful,” said Wadia.

Jessica Alba’s $5 Million Face
Hollywood hottie Jessica Alba has signed a $5 million deal to endorse Revlon’s new 3D Extreme Mascara. Alba will be feature in a global advertising campaign that will include television, print, in-store and Internet placements.
Directed by Ellen Von Unwerth, the campaign’s first television commercial for 3D Extreme Mascara will launch in the US market in July 2007. A comprehensive print campaign will also debut in August 2007 with insertions in beauty and lifestyle books.
The Fantastic Four actress will be joined at Revlon by Beau Garrett - her co-star in the comic book movie - who will also promote the company.
“We are thrilled to have Jessica as part of the Revlon family,” sais Elizabeth Crystal, Senior Vice President of Color Cosmetics. “She is both a dynamic and beautiful woman who represents the modern, glamorous spirit of the brand.”
Jessica will also participate in the annual Revlon Run/Walk in May and will be involved with various company sponsored breast cancer initiatives.
