Kutcher-Werbowy to Push Pepe Jeans

Madrid-based Pepe Jeans has preferred Ashton Kutcher and Daria Werbowy over Sienna Miller as their new faces for Spring 2008 season.

Kutcher, who started with Calvin Klein, will be joined by model Daria Werbowy in fronting the denim and casual wear brand. Werbowy, who has been contracted for only one season, is the current endorser for Lancome.

The upcoming spring campaign has been shot by David Sims in New York, and styled by Joe McKenna. Pepe Jeans has featured other top names in fashion in the past, including British supermodel Kate Moss, Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova, Manchester United kicker Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool footballer Fernando Torres.

Kirsten Dunst to Endorse Miu Miu’s 2008 Collection

Miuccia Prada, who has been known for using celebrities for Miu Miu, has now selected Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst as the face of Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2007 ad campaign.

Kirsten Dunst to endorse Miu Miu rangeKirsten Dunst,24, will join a long list of celebrities such as Kim Basinger, Camilla Belle, Chloe Sevigny, Selma Blair, Maggie Gyllenhaal and more recently Lindsay Lohan who have posed for Prada’s sister line. She has also replaced long time French model/actress Laetitia Casta chosen to represent the Fall 2007/08 Miu Miu range.

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott recently shot the “Spider-man” and “Marie Antoinette” star in Los Angeles. Dunst’s star power (read “sex appeal” and “charming smile”) in the US should give just the right push to Miu Miu’s plans to augment its presence in America with new boutiques planned to open on 57th Street in New York and Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles early next year.

A Camera Fit for a Celebrity

Having seen enough of glamorous, high profile shots of celebrities, I was musing as to what cameras the celebrites themselves were using in their leisure pursuits. A little bit of research on the Web as well as raising queries at a couple forums, and I landed with a small list of about ten cameras that were truly celebrity class.

What surprised me was the consinstency in the preferences for brand, size, colors, and megapixels. Strangely, the trend was into professional SLRs or the ones with a hundred settings. The one that topped the list was the Fujifilm Z5fd, what one forum member quoted as “elegant enough for a stroll down the red carpet.”

Apparently, a 6.3 megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, ISO 1600 sensitivity for low light working, Intelligent flash’,'Blog mode” for easy dowloading for web use, Face Detection Technology (of course!), optimizing both exposure and focus settings were the features that caught the celebs’ attention.

I also saw that it wasn’t the top-of-the-line digital camera, and hence not insanely expensive. The ‘water with all the answers’ has provided Jennifer Aniston with a creative solution to market SmartWater–she has enlisted New England quarterback Tom Brady as the male face of SmartWater.

Jen, 38, who recently became an investor in Glaceu’s SmartWater, is convinced that the company could use a macho image to promote the designer health drink. (More importantly, did she need the extra push to sell a bottle of water at $3-$4?)

“Jennifer is getting actively involved in company decisions,” confirmed Rohan Oza, SmartWater’s senior vice president.

While the deal is rumored to net Brady $3m to $5m, is he doing it for the money? No! Brady,30, said he drinks SmartWater as an alternative to ’sugary’ drinks.

“It’s a replacement product that’s better for you, whether I’m working out or for the morning when I wake up,” he told USA Today. “If you’re going to put something in your body, it may as well be something that’s efficient.”

Then again, the insiders always have another angle to the story, just a wee bit more tangy. As one source with an ear to the ground tells OK!: “Not only does she think he can sell water, but he makes her want to take a cold shower!”
