This should have happened like 2,000 years ago. I’ve been waiting. Anyway, Katie Holmes is finally inspired by her two-year-old daughter Suri to team up with Armani to launch an apparel collection for toddlers.
OK! Magazine has reported that Katie’s first collection will be out as early as Spring 2009. Suri donned a polka dot dress designed by Holmes last year.
“The Katie Holmes for Armani collection will be comparable in price to the Armani ready-to-wear line,” an industry source said. “It will be sold in stores like Saks, Barneys New York and Neiman Marcus. We’re talking very upscale: less expensive than Armani Privé but more than Armani Exchange. These are going to be very high-quality clothes. We’re not talking cheesy Jessica Simpson stuff.”
Saks, Barney’s New York and Neiman Marcus are some of the names expected to be carrying this hot new label, expected to be priced in the Armani ready-to-wear lines. This should be shocking, since Giorgio and the Cruises are close friends. Tom and Katie even wore Armani on their wedding day.

Evangeline Lilly is the new Davidoff Cool Water woman.
Lilly, 28, has signed the deal to promote new perfume for Coty Prestige worldwide, except the US (no comments available on that as of writing), starting well before this Fall.
“Cool Water Woman definitely represents the juxtaposition between purity and sensuality, and there’s that sort of fresh newness,” said the superfit Lily. “On top of it, there’s strength that’s underneath it all, that is where sensuality comes from—versus just pure sexiness.”
My readers will recall I blogged Lilly’s LOST co-star, Josh Holloway’s pact to be Davidoff’s men’s fragrance.
Other celebs to sign on with Coty include Halle Berry, Celine Dion, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker—all of whom have signature fragrance deals.

Hot on the heels of being unveiled as the face of Calvin Klein’s new fragrance, CK signs up Eva Mendes again–this time for their new underwear line.
Beginning this autumn, Eva Mendes will launch the new global advertising campaign for Calvin Klein lingerie, as well as launch Seductive Foundations, CK’s new lingerie collection, said to be designed for women with curvy and full figures.
Mendes has had a long-time association with Calvin Klein, having worked with the brand on several occasions including the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s awards gala. She’s now taking over promoting their underwear range replacing Natalia Vodianova, who was the face of CK’s first ever online campaign last year.
“She really embodies the essence of the Calvin Klein brand and we look forward to seeing that carried through in the creative,” said Tom Murry, president and CEO of Calvin Klein Inc. “We are trying to get across that these new products are for fuller busted, shapelier kinds of women and when we looked at the talent, Eva was right.”
He added that the fact that Mendes spent two spells in rehab last month did not affect their decision to choose her for the underwear campaign.

Hong Kong actress Miriam Yeung has signed up as the face of Japanese cosmetics brand Shiseido.
While Angelina Jolie appears in Shiseido ads (aired only in Japan) for their powder and liquid eyeliner, Miriam will be their new ambassador for the company’s whitening skincare products in Hong Kong and China. Reputable Hong Kong photographer Angus Chan and creative director Nam Kong directed the long photo shoot.
During an interview with the media, Miriam said she “will need to make sure she uses the product to keep looking beautiful, otherwise (she) will lose out when the time comes to ‘meet the parents’ for real.” Guess she was talking about her blossoming relationship with boyfriend Real Ting.
“I’ve grown up now and I appreciate the concern that everyone is showing me,” she added.
When asked how her love life is at the moment, she pitched for Shiseido, saying it is “whitening.”
Good luck, Miriam!

“The OC” cutie Rachel Bilson has teamed up with DKNY to design her own junior sportswear label named ‘Edie Rose’.
The fashion forward line, named after two women who inspired by Bilson while she was growing up, will kick off this September with a 15-piece collection of sporty jackets, sweaters, T-shirts, coats, dresses and skinny and straight-leg jeans.

“This line is my main focus right now,” Bilson told WWD. “I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”
“This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time. I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to be done right,” the 26-year-old star added.
“Our customer has a real emotional connection with Rachel and she’s always on the best-dressed lists, so it seemed like such a win-win for us,” said Kevin Monogue, president of DKNY. “Rachel has real personal style and she is very involved in every step. You can really see that in the collection.”
Now, wait a minute.
But wasn’t it just a couple days ago that Rachel’s top priority was become a housewife, but travel the world first? This is kinda confusing about the actress who is said to be dating her ‘Jumper’ co-star Hayden Christensen.
She was quoted as saying, “”I’ve always been maternal. I want to travel and enjoy myself first, but I really want a family. I love the career I have chosen. But I’d be quite happy as a housewife, at home with the kids. I think I’d be really content.”
Well, when you’re young, beautiful, talented and rich and famous, I guess you can change your priorities at the drop of a jeans… oops, I mean hat!
