Adult star Jenna Jameson, who’s been called “The Queen of Porn”, is telling people to put down their leather whips and use “pleather” instead.
The “Pleather Yourself” PETA ad, unveiled at Smashbox Studios in LA, features Jameson in a black wig and skimpy leather lingerie evoking 1950’s pin-up girl Betty Paige.

“It’s okay to be an animal in bed but not at the expense of real animals. If I can show off the hot look of Pleather and convert a few leather lovers, then mission accomplished,” Jenna said.
She says she has embraced the synthetic leather without question. “I live half my life in Pleather… it’s so fun and sexy!”
Jenna, 33, said she was touched by the animal rights cause by Joaquin Phoenix’s animal husbandry documentary, Earthlings.
“I watched Earthlings and I was so shocked. I turned to my best friend and said, ‘I think my life just got changed.’ A week later I was talking to PETA.”

“Many years ago, I was fishing, and as I was reeling in the poor fish, I realized, ‘I am killing him – all for the passing pleasure it brings me.’ Something inside me clicked. I realized as I watched him fight for breath that his life was as important to him as mine is to me.
“I am Paul McCartney, and I am a vegetarian.”
Says former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney in this ad for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Photographed here wearing a trilby and a T-shirt with the words “Eat No” over a sketch of a cow, McCartney, 65, said he believed if the world rejected meat it could mean the end of famine.
“If anyone wants to save the planet, all they have to do is just stop eating meat,” he told Usmagazine.com. “That’s the single most important thing you could do. Vegetarianism takes care of so many things in one shot: ecology, famine, cruelty.”
“It’s staggering when you think about it,” he added.
Reports are in that we will soon see vegetarian testimonials of Pam Anderson, Forest Whitaker, Casey Affleck and Alicia Silverstone.

Celebrity model and television presenter Nell McAndrew has replaced Kimberly Stewart as the face and body of lingerie brand Adore Moi.
Obviously, Nell’s highly-toned physique and ample assets have impressed Debenhams enough to replace the younger Kimberly Stewart, 28, daughter of Rod Stewart, as the new model for its lingerie range.

“I am delighted to be working with Adore Moi,” said McAndrew. “The range is absolutely beautiful and so feminine. You would expect this lingerie to be found in high end boutiques at similarly high end prices. However, Adore Moi is available exclusively from Debenhams.”
“Nell is the epitome of this brand – gorgeous, sophisticated and sexy,” said Michelle Mone, creator of Adore Moi. “She was a pleasure to work with. She is a mother and is admired by women all over the country.”
McAndrew, 34, a passionate keen marathon runner, is a self-confessed exercise buff, which becomes apparent as she poses for the range’s pretty bras, satin ivory basques with suspenders and racy lacy designs.
Recently, she took part in a training session in Regent’s Park, London, to promote Cancer Research UK Race for Life 2008. Nell ran with her breasts, chest and legs covered in body paint to raise awareness for the women-only charity fundraiser.
Jade Jagger, daughter of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has modelled for Adore Moi in the past.

One of the most recognizable faces in the world, soccer star David Beckham has signed on to represent Sharpie felt-tip markers as its global ambassador.
The worldwide marketing campaign will kick off in the US this month, seeking to establish Sharpie as the “preferred autograph marker”, while promoting other creative uses of the marker produced by Staffordshire company, Sharpie UK.

“Like the Sharpie brand, David embodies individuality and creative expression,” said Howard Heckes, Sharpie global business unit president. “He is the rare athlete who transcends nationality and sport to command worldwide attention, making him the perfect ambassador for Sharpie marker users who are as passionate about the bold mark of a Sharpie as they are about the colors, variety and almost limitless uses of the product.”
“I have always enjoyed signing autographs for people, especially since I used to love getting my heroes’ signatures when I was younger,” Beckham said. “I love to use Sharpie markers, so it’s a natural choice for me to partner with them.”
Sharpie has previously used top US athletes such as as golfers Arnold Palmer and Gary Player to endorse its products.

‘Branding’ a Celebrity?

Move over, Lohan. Hilary Swank is set to take over as the face of Jill Stuart’s fashion line.
I blogged Lindsay’s unveling as the company’s new model last May, but obviously there has been a shift in preferences. Jill Stuart has announced their decision to go in for a ‘more mature’ Hilary Swank, following Linday’s troubled year which saw her getting involved in cop trouble, hospitalization and rehabs.
A source said: “Jill wanted to go for a celebrity to make her fashion line more high profile. But after everything Lindsay has been through over the last year, she doesn’t feel it would be right for her to represent the line.
“She thinks Hilary Swank would be the ideal choice because she is that little bit older, and incredibly well respected in the acting industry.”
This move in no way means Lindsay is out of the reckoning — some reports say she’s just replaced Britney Spears as the host of the Scandinavian Style Mansion gala in Los Angeles next week.
Well, Hollywood is indeed a strange place–where fortunes can change faster than you can change clothes… but that would be an obvious thing to say.
