SA Star Terry Pheto is Face of L’Oreal Paris

South African actress Terry Pheto, who starred in the 2006 Best Foreign Film Oscar-winning movie Tsotsi, is the new spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris.

Terry Pheto: New face of L'Oreal ParisPheto was obviously excited with this opportunity and said it was “an honour” to endorse the brand, more so since it promoted ethnic beauty.

“There aren’t many companies that have developed a range especially for African women,” said the 27-year-old newsmaker. “I think branding for me or any actress is essential; the brand and products you are promoting is very important.”

“This is really a great opportunity for me as an actress and a person,” she added. “It is very exciting, I will get to meet talented people like Beyoncé and Jane Fonda, and just to be associated with them is truly a dream come true for me.”

With this Pheto will follow in L’Oreal roster of famous beauties such as beauties like Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Andie McDowell, Aishwarya Rai, Beyonce, Pierce Brosnan, Claudia Schiffer and Jane Fonda.

Pheto is especially proud of “this endorsement deal (which) is history in the making”, since it’s the first time L’Oreal is launching a product unique to dark skins.

Pheto will endorse L’Oreal’s new product aimed at the dark skin – the Even Perfect Skin Care range.

Lydia Hearst is Silk & Satin Lingerie Model for Myla

Supermodel Lydia Hearst has posed in a range of retro-style satin and silk lingerie for upscale brand Myla’s Autumn-Winter 2008 collection.

Renowned photographer Ben Hassett has captured Hearst in a typically ’40s retro-Hollywood glamour, dramatic with striking colors and backdrops as the images below speak for themselves.

“I love the way the images turned out,” Hearst told the Daily News. “This season people will be seeing not just my high fashion/couture work, but also a sexier side.”

“I certainly have to give credit to my personal trainer David Kirsch for keeping me in shape and making sure I look good in lingerie,” she added.

Twenty-three-year-old Lydia Marie Hearst-Shaw, heiress to the publishing fortune established by her maternal great-grandfather William Randolph Hearst, was also bestowed the title Model of the Year at the 2007 Michael Awards.

She also partnered with Puma and Heatherette to create a high-end limited edition handbag and is on the brim of releasing a New Holiday Collection and a line of athletic gear. She graced the cover of the Italian edition of Vogue as well as New York Post, for which, incidentally, she’s also a columnist (Page Six Magazine).

Jennifer Hawkins Launches Signature Swimwear Brand

Miss Universe 2004 Jennifer Hawkins has made first foray into fashion design with the launch of “Cozi” swimwear in association with Myer of Australia.

Hawkins will also catwalk for her own creations at a fashion parade at Myer’s Sydney City store next month.

The 24-year-old beauty queen talked to The Daily Telegraph about her insatiable urge to tinker with current bikini designs trying to find the perfect bikini.

“I’m in a bikini a lot – I’m working in one,” she said. “I’d see a bikini somewhere, wear it and then want to change it in some way or another, whether it be the color or the feel of it, or the fit. I just wanted to give it my own little touch.”

The Aussie babe said she had kept her girlfriends in mind when designing the range and believed that the sizes and styles in the range suited the tastes of all Australian women. Hawkins’ range includes bikinis and one-pieces in a variety of colors and patterns in sizes 8 to 16, as well as kaftans and cover-ups.

“As Myer’s Ambassador, Jennifer is one of Australia’s favorite personalities,” said Judy Coomber, Myer director of apparel. “Her feminine, fun, sporty, vivacious and down-to-earth qualities as a woman are strongly reflected in the swimwear range she has designed.”

Sean John Underwear has tapped rapper superstar Nelly as their spokesperson for Fall 2008 campaign.

Nelly is the new face for Sean John Fall campaignNelly will model the Sean John underwear and loungewear line which will include briefs, boxer-briefs, boxers, undershirts, pajamas, robes, among other undergarments. The first ads were shot by Randee St. Nicholas and feature Nelly at a modern home overlooking Los Angeles.

“To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man,” Sean “Diddy” Combs said. “He has the attitude, the swagger and most of all, the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to. And let’s be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign. The images are so strong; they speak for themselves.”

“I have been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years. So, when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor,” Nelly commented. “I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”

With this, Nelly follows in the footsteps of celebrities such as Dwayne Wade, Nas, Snoop Dog, Lil’ Wayne, Penelope Cruz, Cassie, and Lauren London who have modeled for the brand earlier.

This certainly makes Nelly a busy person since he’s also preparing for the September 16th release of his latest album Brass Knuckles.
