Canadian pop rock sensation Avril Lavigne has stormed into the world celebrity brands by debuting her very own perfume called ‘Black Star’.

Only yesterday (March 26), she announced the launch of her fragrance on her official website:
I just celebrated the launch of my very first fragrance, Black Star, in London!
We had a wicked party at PUNK- a club in Oxford Circus- and introduced everyone to my very first signature scent! After working on the fragrance for two years, i cant wait to share it with all of you!
Avril had this to say to press after the launch at the Punk nightclub:
“I wanted to make sure it was really me – me in a bottle.”
Levigne, 24, teamed up with Proctor & Gamble Prestige Products in the production and the launch of this perfume, said to target wannabee teen punk stars (read 11- to 19-year-olds).
Just so that the teens may be able to afford it out of their allowance, the prices start at around US $22 for a 15ml spray. However, while perfume will be available in Europe from July, US consumers may have to wait until autumn and Asians as late as 2010.
The pink hibiscus-black plum-dark chocolate perfume will be sold as Eau de Parfum as 15ml, 30ml, 50ml and 100ml sprays, as well as body lotion, deodorant and shower gel.

The introduction was made last night at the “Tribute to Cinema” gala at London’s Big Sky studio.
Moet & Chandon president Frederic Cumenal said: “Scarlett Johansson was the obvious choice as our ambassador because she, like Moet, has a magical story to tell and makes people dream… ”
The print, outdoor and online advertising campaign will start next month and fortify the brand as “the champagne of cinema”.

Former Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor has hit the media and the stores alike as the “face and body” of Tesco’s new designer lingerie brand Diamond Boutique.

The ‘Dancing On Ice’ contestant said she was thrilled to showcase the brand, adding that it gave her an opportunity to do things she really enjoyed — fashion and modeling.
“It also gives me the chance to show off the results of all my hard work from Dancing on Ice,” said the 28-year-old model. “It’s going to be very exciting seeing myself in the aisles – if slightly nerve wrecking!”
The Diamond Boutique range is the creation of Michelle Mone, founder of the Ultimo underwear brand.
Mone said: “The styling and quality of the fabrics will not be compromised at all. But when you’re talking about the volumes we’ll have in Tesco, you can get incredible deals on fabrics.”
Tesco has described the range as “one of the first high-fashion lingerie lines to be stocked in a supermarket”.
Jessica is married to Kevin Pietersen, former captain of the England cricket team. The couple own a number of investment properties in the Lancashire city of Lancaster which they currently rent out.

World number one tennis superstar Serena Williams has signed a unique endorsing deal with Mission Skincare that will make her an equity partner as well as the face of skincare products that target the millions of Americans who engage in some form of exercise.

Williams, 27, will be involved in the development of products, which include lip balm, sunscreen and foot cream.
Williams’ existing deals include Wilson and Hewlett-Packard. But will we see Serena on the courts showcasing Mission Skincare? That’s unlikely, since the terms of her Nike deal forbid her from endorsing any other brand on the court.
Mission Skincare, which recently hired former Reebok US president Bob Munroe as its president and counts former NBC Universal CEO and General Electric vice chairman Bob Wright as a board member, is filling a void in the skin care market by creating products for people with active lifestyles, said Josh Shaw, who founded the company and is serving as its CMO.
Industry reports say that the company has signed other athletes, including NBA star Steve Nash and soccer legend Mia Hamm, and wants to add more.
Williams’ personal agent, Jill Smoller, head of sports at the William Morris Agency, and Williams’ attorney Keven Davis negotiated the terms of the deal.
“Serena met with Josh a couple of times,” Smoller said. “She liked the idea of being able to create her own products there.”
Athletes “get royalties on products they develop with us,” Shaw said. Some of the proceeds from sales go to the athletes’ charities, he added.

Amber Le Bon, the hottest new face — and body — in the fashion circuit, is the new spokes model for Myla vintage-inspired swimwear line.

Amber, the 19-year-old daughter of Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon and legendary model Yasmin Le Bon, is the freshest face among the rock star-born to star for celebrity brands.
She recently catwalked for the Moschino Cheap & Chic show in Milan, and impressed Moschino creative director Rossella Jardini enough for him to comment: “Amber is a fresh, sunny and professional girl.”
She also lead the spring/summer campaign for River Island’s fashion line.
The gorgeous 5ft 10in tall soon-to-be-supermodel has been signed to Models 1, the agency which manages Agyness Deyn and Linda Evangelista. It also represented Yasmin le Bon for the past 18 years.
I think Amber takes to modeling like ducks to water. Obviously, she is set to go miles from Myla.
