Scarlett Johansson is taking over Penelope Cruz as the new image of high street brand Mango, and will feature in Barcelona-based Mango’s Autumn/Winter 09 campaign.

Cruz has been representing Mango the last four seasons. And now Mango has chosen to replace Cruz with the ‘beautiful’ Johansson for…
her extraordinary personality, which embodies the ideal of the urban, independent and cosmopolitan woman MANGO wishes to dress. A woman who is serene and elegant, yet fun-loving and youthful all at the same time.
Wow. That’s quite a compliment, coming from Mango.
With this, Johansson, 24, steps into the Mango advertising roster which has featured the likes of Milla Jovovich, Lizzy Jagger, Karolina Kurkova, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Inés Sastre, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Diane Kruger at various times.
Scarlett was shot by photographer Mario Sorrenti in Los Angeles earlier this week, but it’s not yet clear when the ads will hit the fashion glossies.

In a new role, Hilary Duff will play designer for DKNY Jeans, which, apparently is her latest fashion venture.
The 21-year-old actress singer-songwriter–and now designer–wants her DKNY Femme line to be ’smart’. While that appears quite natural, she also said the designs are kinda “selfish, because it’s skinny jeans, which look the best on me” in an interview with nylon.com.

“One thing I wanted was multiple-size belt loops, because sometimes I want to wear a skinny little belt wrapped around a million times, or sometimes I want to wear a really fat one that won’t ever stay in place, slung low,” the Lizzie McGuire star added.
“I’ll be walking down the street and think, oh she looks cute! Especially being in New York because everyone has such unique styles. And it’s not people who have a ton of money or have a huge closet, but it”s people wearing what they love and having a unique way of putting it together,” Hilary said.

While that could be a problem most of us may be happy to live with, apparently not so for Jessica Biel, as she confesses in the June issue of Allure, hitting newsstands May 26.
The 27-year-old ‘Easy Virtue’ actress says she misses out on roles to Natalie Portman or Scarlett Johansson just because she doesn’t get an audition… just cuz directors find her look to be too modern.
“I just want an opportunity,” she states in Allure’s June issue. “If you don’t like the audition, then don’t hire me! But if you don’t want to even see me — that’s hurtful.” Find out what else Jessica has to say about her looks, marriage, and living life under a microscope.
Is being too good-looking really a problem for an actress?
“Yeah, it really is a problem. I have to be blunt.”
But even if Jessica is dating Justin Timberlake and says she has no idea if she has no idea if she wants to get married, there’s still hope for the rest of us mere mortals… the antique emerald ring she wears is not really from Justin. “I bought that ring for myself,” says Jessica. Sigh…

Mark Sanchez, New York Jets all-American quarterback will be featured in the June issue of GQ, modeling what’s claimed to be this summer’s ’sexiest ’70s-inspired swimwear’… and to help prove the point, he’ll be joined by supermodel Hilary Rhoda, 2009 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue girl.
“I wouldn’t necessarily be caught in those shorts,” Sanchez, 22, said. Who was he kidding? I mean, would he have the time or the inclination to worry even about the Baywatch-style swimwear, especially when in the arms of Hilary?
“She was just giving me pointers the whole time. She made me feel really…comfortable,” Sanchez added. “Yeah, she’s, uh…Well, obviously she’s gorgeous.”
Glad you think so, Mark. We certainly do. And… are they dating? Now… that’s actually out of the scope of this blog, but if you’d like to make a guess, you’d most probably be right!
Hilary Rhoda, well… you just can’t have enough of her. The 21-year-old model, whose fame has been sky-rocketing, has already posed for brands such as Balenciaga, Valentino, Dolce & Gabana, Givenchy, Donna Karan, Gucci and Ralph Lauren among others. She is also one of Estée Lauder’s newest faces and has also graced the covers of Vogue, British Harper’s Bazaar and W.

As if Agyness was not already quirky and bright looking — now she needs to looks glowing as well in Tokyo-based fashion house Uniqlo’s sporty summer designs.

The ads, shot in New York by fashion photographer Dan Jackson and styled by Nicola Formichetti, show Deyn in Uniqlo’s screaming bright apparel, such as pink denims against a pink hoodie, an ultra chic T-shirt against shorter shorts… but thank heavens, anything ‘tastefully eccentric’ goes well with Agy!
I think Agy is perfect for any campaign that has anything to do with summer…. you get the idea ;–) And apparently, Uniqlo think so too:
“Agyness reflects a fresh, youthful and vibrant side of life, which was perfect for the campaign,” said Amy Howarth, head of press and marketing at Uniqlo UK.
The ads broke yesterday in Japan, and will hit the US and UK on June 1.
