Alyson Hannigan has a Brush with Head & Shoulders

Sure, Hollywood celebrity Alyson Hannigan may have a lovely head of hair, but apparently she’s set to fight out some head-scratching behavior in partnership with hair care brand Head & Shoulders.

The 37-year-old star of CBS’ How I Met Your Mother and American Pie, has become the brand’s official female ambassador and will appeal to female consumers in a campaign this month.

With this, Hannigan joins the ranks of Head & Shoulders hair legends including two time Super Bowl champion, Troy Polamalu, and Minnesota Twins All-Star catcher, Joe Mauer.

“I’m so thrilled to partner with such an iconic beauty brand,” said Hannigan.

“My hair goes through a lot on-set, but I’ve relied on Head & Shoulders for years to keep my hair and scalp healthy. Whether I’m picking up my daughter from a play group or I’m at a photo shoot, Head & Shoulders keeps my hair looking great so I can focus on more important things.”

Latest Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery Trends

So what’s new? There’s always something new with the celebrities — like that wafer-thin cell phone only Tom Cruise seems to have. It’s the same in the world of beauty and fashion – there’s always something ground breaking, something, dare we say it, ‘cutting’ edge. Something perhaps even Heidi Montag hasn’t tried yet….

So what are the celebrities up to? Surely, the Miami Thong Lift is doing the rounds proudly! It doesn’t use conventional implants to enhance the buttocks but re-sculpts the area using existing body fat. The ‘booty’ isn’t necessarily made bigger, just firmer and more shapely.

The Brazilian Tummy Tuck is designed to give you a much more defined waistline than the traditional method as it combines abdominal surgery with liposuction. The results are perfect for showing off in this season’s cut-out swimsuits.

The American cosmetic surgeon, Dr Lloyd Krieger, is the creator of the Rodeo Drive Couture breast augmentation procedure. From his clinic on Rodeo Drive, he has consulted with stylists and boutique owners to better understand how body and breast shapes best fit into fashionable, designer clothing.

Whatever the new treatments on offer, it doesn’t mean that the celebs have turned their backs on the more traditional procedures.

One celeb who is less than happy after her brush with cosmetic surgery is Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud. She had a procedure for lip fillers which went disastrously wrong and caused her to comment “never again!” Luckily her ‘trout pout’ has subsided and she is back to her gorgeous best.

Across the Atlantic, Fergie, of the Black Eyed Peas, has been causing some raised eyebrows after her recent red carpet appearance. She looked noticeably different, fuller lips, higher brow and less lined generally.

Her husband, Josh Duhamel, answering questions from the press said it was down to ‘a new shade of lipstick’. Hollywood cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Mark Schwartz, thinks she may have had as much as $30,000 of work done; including brow and eyelid lift as well as cheek fillers.

Others think it could just be the work of Botox and chemical peels and with Botox prices ranging from $250-$500 even the most basic procedures come at a price. At the moment the jury is still out, but you can’t deny, she does look fantastic!

Five Points to Know Before Booking a Wedding Limo

Did you know that the average bride spends $500 on transportation for her big day? It then goes without saying that the limousine ride must be as immaculate as the rest of the wedding day. How can a bride plan this to perfection?

While there may not be hard and fast rules, leading limo company Limos.com have listed out top five tips a bride has to bear before booking a wedding limo:

1. Save time online – Compare limo companies, car types, and prices. Limos.com shows you a side-by-side comparison guide similar to flight and hotel booking sites. Search results include photos, price quotes, service class, and customer comments. You can also search by luxury sedans, antiques/classic limos, stretch limousines, passenger vans, trolleys, carriages, shuttle/mini buses or motor coaches.

2. Check licenses and insurance – Car service providers aren’t required by law to disclose whether or not they are licensed operators, so check the operator’s documentation to be safe.

3. Don’t overpay – Always compare prices from multiple providers, and pay attention to add-ons like fuel surcharges, automatic gratuity, bridge fare, and other fees not included in the base price.

4. Look for special event packages – If the event requires more than a single car, find a provider who can coordinate multiple vehicles and all-inclusive discount packages to get everyone where they need to be, hassle free and on time. Don’t forget airport pick-ups, rehearsal dinner party bus, and transportation for weekend activities. A quality operator will offer packages for customized sightseeing, shopping, concerts, wine tasting tours, and more.

5. Confirm the details – Always obtain an emailed or printed confirmation of the reservation, stating exactly what services and car type will be provided and for what total cost. One week before the wedding, call to confirm the car model and color, and the event date, location and time. Make sure the driver is familiar with all locations, has driving directions, and will arrive looking professional. Most providers will offer special touches such as a red carpet and bottle of champagne, so don’t hesitate to request the extras. Get the driver’s mobile number and provide yours and your wedding planner’s mobile numbers in case any changes occur.

“The best day of your life deserves the best ride of your life,” said T J Clark, Limos.com CEO. “We’ve worked hard to give consumers an easy way to find the perfect car at a great price, provided by trustworthy operators who will ensure an amazing experience for everyone.”
