Janet Jackson Once More Blackglama’s Glamour Face

Celebrity singer-songwriter Janet Jackson is featuring for the second consecutive year for the luxury fur brand Blackglama its “What Becomes a Legend Most?” advertising campaign.

I’m not surprised — Jackson, at 45 is one of the richest women in entertainment, according to Forbes and she has a body that seems to get better each year. Neither is Joe Morelli, CEO of Blackglama. In his own words:

“It became clear in our discussions of who the Legend should be this year, that continuing the momentum with Janet made complete sense. She embodies glamour, luxury and sophistication, everything that Blackglama stands for.”

Apparently the underlying tone of the campaign has evolved over the year to include a touch of fashion sense. Marketing specialist Charles Decao explains:

“The primary difference is that the initial campaigns were focused on a singular image – a legend and a coat,” said DeCaro.

“Our recent branding iterations have evolved imparting a distinct fashion sensibility. Multiple images showcase innovative designs and the relevant multi-faceted ways Blackglama – as a product – can be appropriated.”

Duff, McCarthy, Lakshmi and Brinkley “Move for Change”

Hilary Duff, Jenny McCarthy, Padma Lakshmi and Christie Brinkley are into a national campaign and goodwill initiative called “Move for Change” dedicated to the health and wellness of women and children.

The movement will continually support organizations and programs that research, foster and fund women and children’s health initiatives.

“Move for Change” targets the consumer showcasing each celebrity in their own creative daily fitness routine with a quote designed to motivate action.

Actress, singer and author Hilary Duff is hiking, actress and author, Jenny McCarthy is practicing yoga, while TV personality, Padma Lakshmi is boxing and supermodel and actress, Christie Brinkley is dancing. In short, you got it – they’re all ‘moving’.

The campaign will debut this fall in fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines, as well as outdoor and online vehicles.

“This Danskin campaign is for women of all ages – 20’s, 30s, 40’s and 50’s and what they like to do to stay in shape–physically and mentally in mind, body, and soul,” said Hilary Duff.

“I am so excited that Danskin decided to have a charity component to this campaign. Generation Rescue is my autism organization, which helps families who are low-income,” said Jenny McCarthy.

“It’s a really great way for me to share awareness about autism and how it’s become, unfortunately, so popular in the last decade.”

“Danskin is generously donating to each individual’s charities and I think that is so motivational to show people that you not only have to stay fit, but you also have to give back and all of those things make you feel great,” commented Christie Brinkley.

Padma Lakshmi added: “Danskin is a brand that we’ve all grown up with. It’s the epitome of a strong and graceful femininity. I’m honored that they chose to support the EFA.”
