Stunning catwalker Lily Cole is to be the new face of British retailer Marks & Spencer’s new high-end Limited Collection, which goes on sale from January.
The flame haired 19-year-old will publicize the women’s clothing range alongside other high profile M&S ladies such as Erin O’Connor, Twiggy, Myleene Klass, and Noemie Lenoir. “Her striking beauty goes without saying and her commitment to environmental issues makes for a great partnership with M&S,” said chain’s chief executive Stuart Rose.
The new M&S womenswear range showcases Techno Craft designs with deep colours and tribal prints, ankle-length maxi suits, fitted macs and tailored casualwear. Also, something new to M&S is the prettier high waisted silver denim, skinny jeans, wide-legged jeans and short shorts.
Lily was discovered at 14 by a fashion scout and signed on with Storm Models – the same agency known for having supermodel Kate Moss on its books. Lily got her big break two years later when she appeared as the youngest UK model on British Vogue. Her net worth now rumoured to be around $22.7 million.
Lily Cole joined a degree course at Cambridge University in October and is said to be going easy on her modelling gigs.
The teenage sensation is famous in the fashion circuits of Milan, Paris and New York, where she has modeled for some of the biggest names in fashion. She is also known for being a patron of the Trees for Cities charity and she recently wrote the foreword for Tamsin Blanchard’s book ‘Green Is The New Black’, a book about ethical shopping.
