Victoria’s Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr modeled a number of superhot bikinis on the catwalk at Gran Canaria Moda Calida 2008 show in Las Palmas last weekend.

While Las Palmas is still cooling its heels after the sensational show, Miranda has been busy getting ready for her first catalog photo shoot for the David Jones Summer Collections in Melbourne.
That’s just about all. She’s also been announced as the face of Clinique’s new fragrance Happy Clinique, and all this while she’s still the ambassador for Australian chain store Portmans.
And the paradox of the whole deal is that the 25-year-old hottie can’t come to terms with being called a supermodel.
“It’s what they’re calling me but I don’t really consider myself a supermodel,” Miranda expressed her wonderment. “I mean, what is a supermodel? Is it like a superhero? I think it’s funny. I don’t take myself too seriously. I just go along with it.”
That’s okay, babe. You don’t really have to know the definition of a supermodel–so long as you continue to wear and bare, everything makes perfect sense to me.

I was once again in Santa Cruz last week, and this time, Zahraine joined me driving around the curvy terrain leading down to the beach. She was dressed in a two-piece suit, and well, it’s not summer yet. After driving around looking for a tavern, and after a couple of minutes of introspection, I asked her what her dress meant since we didn’t plan on getting into the waters. She laughed, and exclaimed “Swimwear! Duh”! and ran off into the beer bar.
That made sense actually, using a generic term for something most of reserve for the summer wardrobe. Come to think of it, whether you call them bathing suits or one piece swimsuits or bikinis or tankinis, a swimsuit, it’s still versatile in more ways than one.

It helps you decide when it’s too hot to wear anything else, or even if you all you want to do is just tan. Well, of course, you don’t really have to swim either. One piece swimsuits can make you totally comfortable whether you’re in the water or serving barbeque.
Consider adding a skirt or a pareo for times when you need just a little more coverage, or add a cover-up or board shorts when you feel like kicking sand or joining that game of beach volleyball. Swimsuits are flexible, all purpose beachwear.
I’d say swimsuits are the greatest invention next to the bread slicer. Then again, perhaps it’s a matter of timing.. huh.

It was not too long ago that watched a bunch of guys on the Santa Cruz beach playing volleyball. Well, that’s nothing really spectacular, but what indeed was striking was that most of them were wearing celebrity brand sunglasses. Now, I know a Gucci from an Armani, and the reason I’m blogging this is I find it so affordable to buy wholesale sunglasses.
I follow celebrity fashion trends very closely, and from what I know, I can tell that the brand name prices are going only one way — UP. Then again, celebrity fashions never go out of style, because they’re always in the news. (My girlfriend wants the sunglasses that Jennifer Garner wore while she (Garner) went grocery shopping. So?)
Now, that makes me believe that there’s a helluva lotsa money there in fashion sunglasses. Brand names. Nobody wants to wear a Swiss-made shade unless it says “Armani” or “Police” on it. And let me give you a tip: If you’re even remotely planning to get into this business, you should remember the statistics. The stats say that wholesale replica sunglasses sell much better than the real thing. The point is, you’re only paying for the name, and your consumer only cares about a temporary appearance, as I said, while playing volleyball. Come on, it’s a celebrity world… brand names and Hollywood.
Still unsure? Check out what what other people have to say about wholesale sunglasses, accessories, designer sunglasses, polarized sunglasses and more.
Summer’s coming. Don’t lose out on that! Check out CTS Wholesale — they sure give you a foothold to kick off your own business selling branded sunglasses. Eliminate the middleman and buy and sell direct from the guys who know it best.

Supermodel and Leonardo Di Caprio’s girlfriend Bar Refali will front high street chain Accessorize.
The Israeli-born model 22-year-old model, who has already graced the covers of Sports Illustrated, Maxim, Elle and Italian GQ, now joins fellow supermodels Lily Cole, Kelly Osbourne, Heidi Klum and actress Mischa Barton in representing the British retailer.

Accessorize.com reports that Bar was an obvious choice for the unveiling of the new range beach collection. The collection offers summer beachwear accessories, as well as glitzy jewelled kaftans and embroidered smock tops and a selection of bikinis and sunglasses.
The Accessorize campaign was shot by reputed photographer Enrique Badulescu around spectacular surroundings in LA, which not only conveys “an element of high summer and beautiful natural light, but also exudes energy, glamour and a sense of ‘capturing the moment’.”

Maybe they speak the truth:

The title of the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue says “Barely Bikinis.” And supermodel Marisa Miler does full justice to the title, posing in barely a bikini.
Although Miller has been modeling for SI Swimsuit issues for seven years now, this is the first time she has made the cover, in a photo taken by Raphael Mazzucco during a two-day shoot on St. John , U.S. Virgin Islands.

Miller, 29, who hit the fashion scene big time last year with her commercials for Victoria’s Secret lingerie, as well as SI Catalog, unexpectedly put another supermodel Heidi Klum on the back stride in popularity.
Miller is joined in the issue by several other swimsuit hotties, such as Brooklyn Decker, Selita Ebanks, Bar Refaeli, Tori Praver, Daniella Sarahyba, Irina Shayk, Anne V and Jessica White. Each of them is featured in unique pictorial essays.
This issue of Swimsuit also sees NFL Cheerleaders and IRL driver Danica Patrick making their debut.
The American supermodel was discovered at age 16 by two Italian modeling agents in a San Francisco cafe, after which appeared in Perfect 10 which got her celebrity status in 1997.
And now that Valentine’s drawing up real close, guys might like to know what what makes Marisa feel romantic…
“When my husband booked me spa days kind of randomly, not for any occasion really, but just because he knew I was working hard,” Marisa revealed in an exclusive interview to SI. “Just to take care of you. Anytime a guy does something to try to take care of his woman, that to me is romantic.”
And she’d never date a man who smoked.

How does Jessica Alba look so ravishing in that ‘ordinary looking’ swimsuit? Why do millions drool at Kate Beckinsale in that ’simple’ black swimwear? I agree that the fact that they’re celebrities has something to do with it, but what’s behind the scene is that they selected the swimwear that are just right for them.
My girlfriend Che tells me that whatever your figure, you can find a swimsuit that can flatter your shape. Bottom heavy? Try the padded tops that enhance the chest or high-cut bottoms. Strapless styles also edge out the difference with their horizontal lines. The busty ones ought to try suits that are dark on top and light on the bottom and avoid strapless bandeaus and triangle bikini tops.

Che says that women with Women with long torsos ought to try Tankinis with high-cut bottoms, help the body look more proportional. Women with concern about their tummies might want to look for styles that produce a slimming effect–look for diagonal lines, chevron patterns and dark side panels that curve in. Short torso? Experiment with solid singles with plunging necklines that create a long appearance, and be sure to avoid high-waisted bikini bottoms and suits with horizontal stripes. A fun thing to do would be to try boy shorts and skirted bikinis.
So now we know. The ‘great’ swimsuit look is not for the celebs alone!

Gorgeous Petra Nemcova, former Sports Illustrated cover girl, writer, activist and TV show host is now also the spokesmodel for lingerie maker La Senza.
The 28-year-old follows the footsteps of former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson
and socialite Sophie Anderton as the latest star to be named the face - and sizzling body - of La Senza’s new Autumn/Winter range.
“Lingerie modelling makes you feel so sexy and good about yourself. I really enjoyed the shoot, there was a fantastic team–we had tons of fun,” said Petra. “Some are sexy, some girly, some comfy and some a bit more risque–but they all make you feel great. My favourite garment was the black push-up bra–it had such great shaping but still has very thin straps.”
La Senza is promoting its “sexy” range, which is made from satin, silk and lace in bold metallic shades and autumnal tones. The campaign will be rolled out across the chain’s 171 UK stores.
After being spotted by a talent scout in Czechoslovakia at 16, Petra has modelled for Vogue, Victoria’s Secret and is a popular Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
Petra was first spotted by a talent scout in Czechoslovakia at 16 and since then has enjoyed a successful career, but she has also experienced trauma, surviving the 2004 tsunami after clinging to a tree for eight hours.
She has since launched her own charity, Happy Hearts, which raises funds for children affected by the tragedy.
