Grammy-winning singer Shakira has signed a worldwide agreement to create a signature line of beauty products with Barcelona-based Puig Beauty & Fashion Group.

Shakira will develop fragrances and other beauty and personal care products teaming up with Puig.

“I am very excited to be able to express myself through another creative medium. My feeling is that personal care and beauty should be effortless and accessible for everyone,” said the 31-year-old Colombian-born rocker.

The move by Puig doesn’t really come as no surprise since the Group has previously developed perfumes fronted by actor Antonio Banderas, as well as designer fragrances Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne and Nina Ricci. The Puig Group, with a presence in more than 150 countries, will also act as the sole global distributor of the products and create strategic marketing alliances.

As for the songbird and entrepreneur, whose name in Arabic means “woman full of grace”, Shakira is also the creator of the Barefoot Foundation, dedicated to the improvement of educational and social conditions for families and children in her home country. She is continuing the good work by selling some of her personal belongings on eBay for her children’s charity.

Recently, a fan paid £1,500 for a Roberto Cavalli jewelled bra that Shakira wore on her Oral Fixation world tour in 2007.

Admin Note: Reposted to reflect the brand new design of Compare-GHD website.

Sometimes I wonder if the women I see on TV ever get old? While common sense dictates they should and do, what is it they do differently that has an age-reversing effect on them? A closer look tells me that, other than cosmetic surgery, special diets and workouts, the ultimate secret of eternal good looks–they all take excellent care of their hair and choose the right hairstyle to suit their face and match the occasion.

What do these celebrities have in common?

What is the one thing the fantastic looks of these celebrities have in common? You guessed it–it’s their glamorous hair. Well, that’s not all there is to it. They all use GHD straighteners, too, to keep their hair looking sleek, smooth and shiny–and celebrity-like!

GHD has gained a worldwide reputation for excellence in hair stylers and hair straighteners. The hair doesn’t get pulled or stretched and looks smooth and glossy after the styling. Depending on your choice, you may also curl, twist, flick, wave, bounce, ringlet, lift and frizz the hair.

With the sky rocketing popularity of GHD products, naturally, there has been concern that fake GHD products are being sold through salons and on websites. However, Compare-GHD is one online outlet where you never have to worry about buying a GHD fake. Cate Blanchett: New International Face of P&G’s SK-II

Australian actress Cate Blanchett, who has represented P&G’s high-end skin care brand SK-II in Australia for over three years, is now its global ambassador.

Cate Blanchett at the UK premiere of “Elizabeth: The Golden Age”The Elizabeth star, 38, who will wear a pioneering new facemask in ads for the product, says she was keen to promote SK-II because it had helped keep skin in its famously good shape for the past seven years. Her roles have frequently demanded heavy makeup attention–two-and-half-hours worth daily for “Elizabeth”–and her skin requires extra care, according to Cate.

“I’m evangelical about it,” Cate said. She has appeared in the Lord of the Ring trilogy and The Aviator, for which she won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn.

“Our desire to work with Ms. Blanchett globally was a natural progression for the brand,” says Shivesh Ram, Vice President and General Manager of Global SK-II. “Since first using the products seven years ago, Cate has joined the millions of women around the world who have experienced SK-II. She has shared her discovery of the ‘Secret Key’ to beautiful skin through her passion for and belief in our products, and the miracle of Pitera(R). We’re delighted to have her expand her role within the SK-II family.”

SK-II, whose products retail for between $60 and $300, is sold in a dozen countries, mainly in Asia, and are also available in a few U.S. department stores.

Reese Witherspoon Walks the Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Line

Reese Witherspoon is setting out to battle breast cancer with Avon Foundation’s Breast Cancer Crusade that does not harm animals in its research for early detection, screening, and finding a cure for breast cancer.

Reese Witherspoon is Avon’s ambassador of cruelty-free research ventureAvon Products Inc. has named Reese Witherspoon its first-ever global ambassador and honorary chair of the Avon Foundation, a cruelty-free charity that focuses on breast cancer research and awareness, domestic violence education and services, and emergency relief programs.

“I’m very excited about working with the Avon Foundation, with many different aspects of it,” said the 31-year-old Oscar winner. “First and foremost, breast cancer research and awareness, programs that they’re working on. Someone very close to me is a breast-cancer survivor. It’s a cause that’s very close to my heart.”

Avon Foundation’s Breast Cancer Crusade focuses on channeling its funds prevention, community-based organizations, and cutting-edge clinical research rather than wasting funds on cruel, archaic, and unreliable animal tests.

“Our partnership with Reese represents a breakthrough moment for our company,” Geralyn Breig, senior VP and global brand president for Avon, said. “This is the first time we have had celerity representation on all three dimensions of our business—our philanthropic initiatives, our brand and the Avon Representative—and we are incredibly excited to have someone of Reese’s talent and stature add her voice to Avon’s message to help bring it to the world.”

Witherspoon is appearing in a global advertising campaign and on brochures and websites touting the company’s multi-faceted brands, according to Avon.

No One “Nose” - Part 1

Celebrities have a strange love-hate relationship with publicity. While it’s like oxygen to them, they still claim to hate the media. Secrecy and fame indeed make bizarre bedfellows.

For starters, I can appreciate to some extent, though not quite, why they would want to hide a nose job. Here, in part 1 of a celebrity rhinoplasty mysteries, I plan to dissect (no pun intended) the hottest controversies surrounding some of the top celebrities attempting to keep their plastic surgery a secret.

Angelina Jolie - Before and After?

ANGELINA JOLIE. Did she or didn’t she? Although there’s no proof that the 31-year-old beauty has gone under the knife, some like to think she had the tip of her nose refined. Many believe Jolie has had a nose job and cheek implants sometime in the last ten years.

Faces do undergo some sort change with age, but Jolie’s nose thinnning and pronounced cheekbones are typical tell-tales of plastic surgery.

Vaseline Makes Hilary Feel ‘Sexy and Girly’

Perhaps Vaseline wants to shed their bland skin and get an image as a swanky cream. Is that why pop sensation and teen fashion queen Hilary Duff is the new face of vaseline?

Hilary Duff poses for Vaseline

Even Hilary sheds her heavy make-up to pose for the new ad campaigns. Personally, I love the fresh, dewy look which we rarely get to see. But why would a hip pop diva opt to pose with petroleum jelly? The star expalined to Jared:

“”Skin is a part of you, and you have to be proud of what you have. I feel comfortable in my own skin. Sometimes showing a little is fun. It makes me feel sexy and girly.”

A Breath of Fresh Fashion at Tobi.com

‘Bright, trendy and friendly’ might just sum up the essence of the full-featured online boutique tobi.com that is a more than a mere shopping experience. While the choice of brands and styles seems almost endless, a live chat facility not only helps to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for, but also adds to the fun.

Tobi.com

Although the initial impression one might get from the home page could be that the online store is dedicated only to women, there’s also a section for men, which offers an equally wide array of clothing, beauty accessories and eco-friendly products in hip brands.

I started exploring the website with the brands and was impressed to see clothing and accessories in no less than 150 brands including Acne jeans, Diesel, Graham & Spencer, Helmut Lang, Juara, Kimberly Sayer, Lundgren & Windinge, Nanushka, Rachel Leigh, Rebecca Minkoff, Stewart + Brown, Velvet and Wrangler 47, to mention a few.

And be ready to get spoilt for choice with the categories of items as well, which includes accessories, denim, dresses, handbags, jackets, jewelry, pants, shoes, beauty products and more, all offered at some of the attractive prices you get on the Web.

There’s also a Beauty Bar with exclusive beauty and cosmetcs items for both men and women, as well as a Lookbook which highlights the latest trends in fashion.

With winter right around the corner, if you’re planning on picking up some velvet clothing, tobi.com might just be the place. You’ll find some superb velvet apparel by Graham & Spencer including Tees, knits and sweaters and velvet clothes such as casual dresses and jackets.
