Lee McKenzie Has a Formula to Stop Traffic
Sky Sports presenter Lee McKenzie has become the first woman to represent Formula One (F1) on BBC TV.
The newsmaking journalist, who presented for ITV and launched the Horse Racing channel At the Races, has signed a £2million deal to report F1 action from the pit stop, come February.
“I’m very excited,” said McKenzie, 31. “It’s a tremendous opportunity and something I’ve worked towards throughout my career. I know a lot of the drivers already and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
Former Grand Prix celebrity David Coulthard will be joining McKenzie, who’s already a recognizable face in the Formula One scene, popular with champion drivers such as champion Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso.
Come to think of it, F1 just got a bit more racy:
