Hilary Duff, Jenny McCarthy, Padma Lakshmi and Christie Brinkley are into a national campaign and goodwill initiative called “Move for Change” dedicated to the health and wellness of women and children.
The movement will continually support organizations and programs that research, foster and fund women and children’s health initiatives.
“Move for Change” targets the consumer showcasing each celebrity in their own creative daily fitness routine with a quote designed to motivate action.
Actress, singer and author Hilary Duff is hiking, actress and author, Jenny McCarthy is practicing yoga, while TV personality, Padma Lakshmi is boxing and supermodel and actress, Christie Brinkley is dancing. In short, you got it – they’re all ‘moving’.
The campaign will debut this fall in fashion, lifestyle and entertainment magazines, as well as outdoor and online vehicles.

“This Danskin campaign is for women of all ages – 20’s, 30s, 40’s and 50’s and what they like to do to stay in shape–physically and mentally in mind, body, and soul,” said Hilary Duff.

“I am so excited that Danskin decided to have a charity component to this campaign. Generation Rescue is my autism organization, which helps families who are low-income,” said Jenny McCarthy.
“It’s a really great way for me to share awareness about autism and how it’s become, unfortunately, so popular in the last decade.”
“Danskin is generously donating to each individual’s charities and I think that is so motivational to show people that you not only have to stay fit, but you also have to give back and all of those things make you feel great,” commented Christie Brinkley.
Padma Lakshmi added: “Danskin is a brand that we’ve all grown up with. It’s the epitome of a strong and graceful femininity. I’m honored that they chose to support the EFA.”

Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete is all the way out to try and make the lives of poor children better in her hometown of Guadalajara through Children International, a US-based humanitarian organization.

“It was difficult for me to see the poverty and how these families struggle to get by in the city where I grew up,” said Navarrete, 23.
“But now I have seen the life-changing work Children International is doing with children and teens in Mexico. They are giving impoverished children a chance to live better lives.”
The beauty queen met with several children and their families supported by Children International. A number of kids received medical and dental care, educational assistance, clothing and other necessities that they could not afford.
In a country with 44 percent poverty rate and a city riddled with slums filled with families living on less than $1 a day, Children International provides assistance to over 15,000 poor children there.
“We are grateful to Miss Universe’s dedication to improving the lives of children in her hometown,” said Children International’s President and CEO Jim Cook.
“Her support has brought to light the deep poverty that exists behind the scenes in Guadalajara,” he added.

Celebrity British soul singer-songwriter and actress Joss Stone has posed nude for an animal rights campaign, protesting the killing of bears whose fur is used for making military hats.

The PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) advert above shows Stone, 23, hugging a teddy bear that covers her naked body, but still conveys quite effectively the message. Though the photo doesn’t show all, the slogan says it all.
Stone said in a statement:
“Too many people at the Ministry of Defence are dragging their heels on this issue, and I feel like more needs to be done to stop the murder.
“It’s time for the Ministry of Defence to finally make the switch and go fur-free, and I hope that the ad I have created with PETA helps raise awareness and puts a stop to this unnecessary killing.”

Nineteen-year-old Mexican American star of the new Twilight movie ‘Twilight Saga New Moon’ Chrisitian Serratoas is against cruelty to animals, and to prove her point, is posing nude in Peta’s Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign.

In the photo for People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta), Christian says, “Animals killed for their fur are electrocuted, drowned, beaten and often skinned alive. Please don’t wear fur.”
“I’ve always been opposed to slaughtering, eating, wearing carcass(es),” Christian said. “It’s just always seemed gross to me.”
Christian is the youngest celebrity to bare all for the organization’s anti-fur campaign. See other celebrities who have posed naked for Peta:

Hollywood star Nia Long is going to long(-legged) lengths to save the animals — even posing in a subway car completely nude to make her point that she’d “rather go naked than wear fur”.

Long is the latest celebrity to hop in on the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) bandwagon in their movement against cruelty to animals. She’s just saying that you ought to be comfortable in your own skin rather than in an animal’s.
In an exclusive interview with PETA, Long said:
“When I became a mother, I started to really understand the importance of all living creatures in a way that I didn’t ever think about before. And I’ve realized how important it is that we really take responsibility for … treating animals with love and care just like we would any human being. There’s no difference, in my opinion, between fur and slavery or the Holocaust. It’s just that we’re not dealing wth human beings, we’re dealing with animals, but it’s still a living thing.”
“In being a responsible adult and really understanding what happens for one fur coat and how many animals are killed and slaughtered for one fur coat, it just isn’t worth it to me,” the 38-year-old star added.
Well, now if she were to pose LIVE on the subway — rather than as a badly photoshopped image in a print magazine — her message would have reached a much wider audience… and if it’s NYC subway, to at least 5 million people on a typical weekday.
