While being declared the celebrity of the year by Parlux Fragrances, socialite-heiress Paris Hilton has also signed up as the face of the company’s women’s scents for yet another five-year period.
Florida-based Parlux Fragrances, Inc. has announced that the board the Fragrance Foundation has chosen Paris Hilton as their celebrity of the year. This is the first of its kind award from Parlux and Paris will accept this award on May 27 in New York City at the Foundation’s annual FiFi Awards.
“We are extremely pleased that Paris has been selected for this initial prestigious award,” said Neil Katz, chairman and chief executive officer of Parlux. “Parlux has recently renewed its fragrance license with Ms. Hilton for an additional five-year period and we look forward to the continued success of this brand.”
“As mentioned at our last shareholder conference call, we’re close to finalizing fragrance licenses with two major celebrities,” he added. “Last week, our Board of Directors unanimously approved the proposed agreements with these celebrities. Although nothing is 100% certain, we are finishing final details at this time and hope to announce these new licenses very soon.”
That’s great going for the sassy blonde. But what really is such a mystery is how the 27-year-old manages to find glamorous ways to stay in the news…. like what we heard last week about her Bentley-manufactured £200,000 ($283,000) diamond-encrusted dashboard.
So there’s still some people out there who’re not hit by the global economic meltdown. Maybe some can’t even spell it…

Pop singer-songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney is all set to launch his very own women’s perfume called Wanted in collaboration with fragrance marketer First American Brands Inc.
We’re just getting a sneak peek at the advertising and promotional campaign, allegedly costing upward of $7.5 million. The bottle design, which is almost like a tribute to the tear drop of a heartbroken teen, is intended to have a sophisticated feel, according to Olesya Ianovitch, marketing director for First American Brands.
The 21-year-old performer has revealed that the perfume was created in cooperation with the house of Drom, with a sweet-fresh combination of bergamot, with jasmine and rose in the heart, finishing with cedar, musk and chilled apple.
The eau de parfum will be available in a 3.4-oz. version priced at $55 and a 1.7-oz. size for $45. The campaign, aimed at 21 to 30-year-old’s, will showcase McCartney in print advertising, an online marketing campaign and personal appearances.

Hollywood star Courtney Cox was announced as the face of Avon’s new fragrance for women called Spotlight at a Central Park event last night.
“It (the scent) is not overpowering, and it’s feminine,” the Friends sitcom actress said at the cocktail party organized to celebrate the perfume set for an April launch. “I don’t like overpowering scents. I like when people have to get close to smell you. I knew that I loved Spotlight as soon as I smelled it. It’s just perfect — it’s floral, it’s citrus.”
Cox, 44, said she loves the way Avon cares about their employees.
“They stand for such important things and are just so charitable,” she added. “Until I met with the company, I didn’t know everything they did, how much they give back. I was like, ‘Wow, I want to be a part of their organization.’ And the scent was perfect. Had the scent not been good, had the company not been great, I might not have done it. But it worked out perfectly. It was the perfect marriage.”
Cox is currently starring in the new season of Scrubs which premiered on ABC on January 6, 2009.

Singer-actress-TV producer Jennifer Lopez has just come out with ads for her new women’s perfume Sunkissed Glow.
Sunkissed Glow, said to be a flowery, fruity and sensual scent with notes of orange blossom, waterlilies and passion flowers, is Lopez’s seventh perfume to hit the scent market after Glow by JLo, Glow After Dark by JLo, Still Jennifer Lopez, Live Jennifer Lopez, Live Luxe and Deseo.
The campaign was photographed by Peter Lindbergh on the island Islamorada in Florida.
Sunkissed Glow will be available at retailers in Europe next month and will be offered in Eau de Toilette Spray (30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml) and Sensual Body Lotion (200 ml). U.S. release? No news, not yet.
While I’m sure the ember and scented perfume would be a hot item, what’s even hotter and intriguing is how the 39-year-old mother of two maintains her waist to fit into tiny bikinis. I think the above ads would be more effective workout equipment.

UK’s Quiz Call anchor and sensational Liz Fuller has signed up to be the new face of couture perfume Dream de Rachel Elbaz.
The ex-Miss Great Britain has been photographed for ads that will appear on billboards and buses in London, to be followed by an international campaign taking them to Paris and Dubai.
“I love the perfume and feel privileged to have been chosen to be the face of Dream,” said the 32-year-old Swansea stunner. “And though I have now been on TV for eight years, I am more excited about being on the London buses – just like Carrie in Sex and The City!”
“She’s a great designer and a good friend. It’s fantastic to be working with her,” Liz added about designer Rachel Elbaz.
The limited luxury edition 300ml crystal bottle of the scent, described as “a delicate blend of amber, patchouli and jasmine”, costs a mere £1,500 (about $2250). Surely just some ‘pocket money’ for some.
The Cardiff University journalism graduate is also the spokesperson for Pearl Drops Toothpaste, in a three-year deal.
