Men’s fragrance has a new tune to sing — Justin Timberlake has been declared the new spokeperson for Parfums Givenchy.
The ‘SexyBack’ singer will front Givenchy’s all-new men’s fragrance this Fall.
“Beyond his huge celebrity appeal, we chose Justin Timberlake because he is a world recognized trendsetter who redefines modern elegance,” confirmed Alain Lorenzo, president of the French perfume brand.
“He’s multitalented, he’s been voted one of the sexiest men in the world and he’s a trendsetter, not just in musical terms but in the way he lives and dresses,” Lorenzo added. “He’s very popular everywhere. He’s not just the idol of the Americans or of the Brits, he’s truly a world-recognized artist in his field.”
Lorenzo went on to say that while Justin wasn’t involved in the development of the fragrance, he did see it and smell it before signing the contract.
“When he smelled it, his only words were ‘It’s cool,’” Lorenzo recapped.
Justin will join Liv Tyler in Givenchy’s top-of-the-line spokespersons, as Liv is already fronting Givencgy’s Very Irresistable fragrance.

At 43, Clive Owen is the new face of Lancôme’s anti-aging skincare line as well as its new men’s fragrance, Hypnôse Homme.
Owen, I’ve been told, is the typical tall, dark and handsome man every woman dreams about. My ex girlfriend used to rave and rant that his ‘brooding’ looks are so ‘cute.’ One wouldn’t expect such a ‘character’ to care much about aging, would one?
“To tell you the truth, I didn’t use to really,” Clive laughs. “I do much more now. Besides, in the last few years, things have changed. Men have started to care about and protect their skin, and they are much more comfortable with it.”
The Oscar nominated actor, however, admitted he felt the fibre of the print ads and commercials campaign fitted the dark and subtle characters many associate him with.
“It’s very in keeping with what I’ve been doing,” he says. “The campaign is classy and everything produced is of high calibre. I feel confident and comfortable, and am flattered to have been asked to do this.
“I am lucky to have an amazing wife and family,” says Owen, who’s been married to Sarah-Jane Fenton for 12 years and has two daughters aged six and nine. “All this wouldn’t mean anything if I didn’t have family to share it with.”
Is it his down-to-earth personality or his concept of what’s beauty that makes Owen appealing to all?
“It’s not just about looks,” he says. “It’s about who the person is. And it is not about trying to hold on desperately to your age. You should embrace aging.”
Reports hint that it was Owen’s meticulous choice of the characters he’d play that led to Lancôme selecting him as their spokesman.
UPDATE
Adria thinks Gerard Butler could be a strong contender for a similar high-end line.
I really have no idea if he’s already representing any brand, but I did read that the “tall, dark and handsome Gerard cuts quite a dashing figure, and with his charming Scottish accent, he’s considered quite a catch amongst the ladies… ”
However, no one is sure if he’s single or spoken for, as he makes a mighty effort to keep his private life to himself.
Come to think of it, he does look a bit like Clive, doesn’t he?

Tom Ford knows style, and he knows perfumes. He has launched his new ‘Private Blend’ fragrance at Harvey Nichols London.

The ex- Gucci designer showcased the 12 individual and unusual fragrances, among which are tobacco, vanilla and Tuscan leather, and are sold in old-fashioned, chemist-like bottles and can be mixed with one another, depending on the individual’s taste.
“The concept behind my scents is similar to the one behind my new line of men’s clothing,” Ford told Vogue TV. “I wanted to create absolutely unique and exclusive products, unlike some of my previous projects.”
Tom Ford’s previous fragrance Black Orchid is already a bestseller, and his new scent looks set to do the same, with twelve unisex fragrances packaged into one bottle design. Private Blend. Private Blend is bespoke beauty, which is an extension of his luxury menswear line that was recently launched in New York.
Since leaving the Italian fashion house in 2004, Ford has been working on several projects including a line of sunglasses and a cosmetic line for American giant Estee Lauder.
About his long awaited collection for women, he said: “It is on the cards. I can’t promise when, but I can promise I’m thinking about it.”

Coty Prestige has signed an agreement with actor Josh Holloway to be the new face of the Davidoff Cool Water fragrance (worldwide except North America).
For the southern charmer, the sexy James “Sawyer” Ford on Emmy award-winning show “Lost”, marks the first time crossing over into the fragrance market. Davidoff Cool Water, a major emblematic cologne, has long symbolized the energy, sensuality and the cool attitude that characterize Josh Holloway.
“I love Cool Water because it is simple, powerful and timeless. To me, the Cool water man is not someone who is trying to be cool, he is someone who is comfortable with his masculinity,” said Josh Holloway.
“Davidoff Cool Water is a legendary fragrance, a unique worldwide success since 1988. As an icon of masculinity and powerful character, Josh truly embodies the values of Davidoff Cool Water. Both share authenticity and originality, both are the first and the best and in this sense are unique,” said Françoise Mariez, SVP, Coty Prestige.
It is a rather well-know fact that Holloway deives his energy from Nature and the sun. The sea is his world. Holloway, 37, currently resides in Hawaii with wife Yessica. He is also into extreme sports like paragliding and snowboarding.
If you’re living anywhere except North America (so unfair!), expect to see the sexy, cool, fashionable star in the first TV commercial and print ads for the fragrance in July 2007.
