Hollywood star Kate Hudson has teamed up with celebrity hairdresser David Babaii to launch an eco-friendly new hair care line.
“We’re trying to come up with a way to make a product that everybody could get and afford - and actually make it a conscious product,” Hudson, 29, said. “We’d go to these labs and you start learning about regulations and how to make a product that’s sustainable in a market with people who want to buy things with longer shelf lives.”

“I’m not preaching about the environment, I’m just trying to educate people,” the “Fool’s Gold” star added.
“David Babaii for WildAid” has been in the works for more than two years, and the new shampoo and hair care product line was launched at ABC Carpet & Home this week, before it makes its mass debut nationwide. Ten percent of the profits will benefit WildAid, an animal conservation group.
Kate was the lab assistant as well as the muse during the development.
“I don’t test on animals, I test on Kate,” Babaii revealed.

“Internet It Girl” Cory Kennedy, who just turned 18, is the new face (and hair) of Sebastian’s Whipped Crème.
Sebastian has been building brand products for the last four decades, and is now shifting its advertising focus from the silver screen to the computer screen. Its now tapping Cory Kennedy to relaunch its non-sticky and sweet-smelling shaping cream.
“Of course I feel pressure!” said Kennedy to NylonMag.com on being the new face of the iconic hair care company. “I’m always into experimenting and trying new things, but always being myself no matter what I’m doing or wearing or whatever. I think the people at Sebastian get that and like that about me.”
“I’m always switching it up and playing with different looks. This product is actually something I can use,” she added. “It’s amazing because it gives me, like, curls and waves and bounce, and it’s really light, and it smells really good.”
Kennedy is an Internet celebrity who became an international style phenomenon in 2006, parlayed her minor celebrity into a career as a fashion model, all before her parents were even aware of what was going on.

Admin Note: Reposted to reflect the brand new design of Compare-GHD website.
Sometimes I wonder if the women I see on TV ever get old? While common sense dictates they should and do, what is it they do differently that has an age-reversing effect on them? A closer look tells me that, other than cosmetic surgery, special diets and workouts, the ultimate secret of eternal good looks–they all take excellent care of their hair and choose the right hairstyle to suit their face and match the occasion.

What is the one thing the fantastic looks of these celebrities have in common? You guessed it–it’s their glamorous hair. Well, that’s not all there is to it. They all use GHD straighteners, too, to keep their hair looking sleek, smooth and shiny–and celebrity-like!

This is a follow-up on my earlier post of July 25, 2007:
Hilary Swank to Promote Charity Campaign
Oscar-winner Hilary Swank has let talk-show host Oprah Winfrey chop off a little more than 9 inches of her hair on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

The “Million Dollar Baby” star, 33, has been growing and strengthening her hair by taking vitamins and moisturizing–all for the sake of Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths campaign, which takes donated hair and makes it into wigs for cancer patients.
“I’ve had a lot of people in my life, loved ones and friends who have been devastated by cancer,” Hilary said. “I’m really thankful for my health and I wanted to find a way to give back.”
“Eight percent won’t get their potentially life-saving treatment because they don’t want to lose their hair,” she added. “I thought, ‘Here’s my hair. Cut it off. Save your life!’”
“It’s taken months to get to this moment,” said Winfrey. “It involves a two-time Academy Award winner, a sharp object, and me.”

“So if this talk show-acting-producing stuff for you doesn’t work out, you have a whole new career in haircutting,” Hilary joked after the shear. “We know you can do everything. But really, now you can cut hair like this?”

Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has signed with Pantene to become the new face of ‘Pantene Beautiful Lengths’ Charity.
The Pantene drive is aimed at supporting women who’ve lost their hair in the course of treatment for cancer. Hilary will encourage people to grow their hair, cut it off and then donate it to create wigs for women who’ve lost their hair.
And she’s getting personally involved in the campaign in terms of cut her own locks for the cause.
“I have lost multiple family members to cancer and witnessed their struggle first hand,” Hilary said in a statement. “I’ve never heard of anything quite like Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and I’m proud to be asked to promote the goals of such a unique and heartfelt program.”
According to femalefirst.co.uk, a recent study revealed that 58 percent of women consider hair loss to be the most dreaded side effect they face when undergoing chemotherapy.
Pantene has partnered with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to launch the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign which will start early 2008.
Now… isn’t that a noble thing to do? To inspire confidence? At any level?
How many of us choose to sacrifice anything for the sake of a stranger… even for monetary gain? I wouldn’t.
All I’m saying is that there are still some people in the world who do that. Only the ones who are so full of life that they can share it with another.

Queen of Cool Kate Moss is teaming up with her celebrity hairdresser friend James Brown to produce a line of hair care products, and despite the fact that she will not give her name to the range, the packaging will feature her celebrated face on their packaging.
A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “Kate is giving her advice and expertise from years in the fashion industry. The products will feature her image but, unlike her Topshop clothing range, they won’t have Kate Moss branding.”
Kate, 33, grew up with James, 33, in Croydon, and he’s the man responsible for creating her blonde, tousled lusted-after locks, and has also frequently worked on stars like Madonna and Victoria Beckham.
“James and Kate met as youngsters and he has been massively supportive to her throughout her career.”
The British catwalk star, whose collection proved to be a hit with shoppers, is still in negotiations with retailers over the new product.
The slender blonde is reportedly hoping the venture will be yet another lucrative project, adding to her current estimated net worth of $90 million.
