Maria Sharapova to Dazzle in Tiffany at Wimbledon

Tennis champion Maria Sharapova will serve something besides tennis balls at the upcoming Wimbledon Championships. Watch the sports celebrity dazzling earrings by Tiffany designer Elsa Peretti.

The three-time Grand Slam winner also wore Elsa Peretti earrings at the French Open which ended recently at the Roland Garros Stadium in Paris.

The earrings selected for Wimbledon are a sterling silver design from Elsa Peretti’s Diamonds by the Yard collection. Introduced in 1974, the collection features modern jewelry design, with fine chains and bezel-set stones.

The 23-year-old former world number one said:

“Wearing Diamonds by the Yard on the court is a perfect example of how Elsa Peretti made diamonds fashionable anytime and anywhere.

“It’s a pleasure to wear her signature of elegant simplicity.”

Pegah Goldooz, general manager of Tiffany in the Middle East, said: “Sharapova’s association with Tiffany shows the trust of top global celebrities for the brand.”

“She has displayed a dynamic sense of style on and off the court thus it is only natural for her to support Elsa Peretti earrings that have instantly put the quality of her game and Tiffany’s reputation as an iconic jewellery house in the spotlight,” Goldooz added.

The partnership between Sharapova and Tiffany covers the four Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.

The 2010 Wimbledon Championships will start on June 21 and run until July 4 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Sienna Miller: Perfect for Piaget Possession

Call her a controversial celebrity, the permanent “It” girl or the serial dater, but Sienna Miller is the perfect choice to be the new face of Piaget Possession from the Swiss brand of luxury watches and fine jewelry.

The 28-year-old actress and fashion designer, best recalled (for most) from Factory Girl, Alfie and Layer Cake, is delighted to be representing Piaget who is marking the 20th anniversary of the stunning Possession collection.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Piaget,” Miller said.

“I think they’re a wonderful, classic brand. The jewelry is the spectacular. Very classic but funky too. Nowadays, everybody has such great style, so jewelry can really make it more individual.”

To create a series of iconic images of “one of the world’s fashionable women” (as put by Piaget), the company put together an A-list team of fashion industry professionals for a major photo shoot at Hudson Studios in New York. Piaget also roped in Raymond Meier, the legendary fashion photographer. There’s a video of the how-it-was-done available on Piaget site as well as on Facebook and YouTube.

In the meantime, did you hear about the wedding plans of Jude Law and Sienna? At the moment, the story is making the rounds, and earlier this month all Jude could say, when asked if he was going to propose to Sienna, was: “Not at the moment.”

Not much to read between the lines, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. Would you?

Michelle Obama Wears Sutra Jewels Cuff

First Lady Michelle Obama has picked a Sutra Jewels gold cuff to wear to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner held yesterday.

Photos of the event held at Washington Hilton showed Ms Obama in a Sutra Jewels piece with a gold raspberry tourmaline of 10k as the center stone, flanked by rose cut diamonds in a star-burst motif and set against a hand hammered gold cuff in 18k.

Fine jewelry by Sutra Jewels is a fresh take on classic designs, inspired by the luxurious shapes of the Edwardian era, and infused with the contemporary, electric edge of the Art Deco period.

Sutra pieces are stunning and artistic, an instant favorite of the effortlessly chic modern woman, a statement said.

Cindy Crawford to Offer One Kiss

Evergreen — or should I say ever hot — celebrity model Cindy Crawford is set to launch her signature jewelry line One Kiss exclusively in JC Penney stores in April.

Crawford, 44, and JC Penney have hit it off well in the past — with the Cindy Crawford style brand of home furnishings and accessories, and more recently, outdoor furniture.

I don’t see any reason why One Kiss shouldn’t be a hot sell either, especially while rolling out well in time for Mother’s Day and being priced ‘reasonably’ between $79 and $299. The 45-piece collection will launch with necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.

The collection will feature delicate sterling silver, gold over sterling silver, gemstone and diamond pieces, while the design is inspired by a henna symbol that translates to “kiss.”

It will be sold in more than 600 JC Penney stores as well as on JCP.com.

Alicia Keys Launches ‘Inspiring’ Jewelry Line

Grammy-winning R&B star Alicia Keys is stepping up on her music career by launching her own jewelry brand inscribed with inspirational messages.

Keys, 28, has collaborated with Canadian designer Gisele Theriault in a jewelry line called “The Barber’s Daughters” which features silver and gemstone pieces with quotes and poetry from iconic figures such as Gandhi, Buddha and Shakespeare.

Industry sources said that one of the items, a sterling silver cuff, is inscribed with words of wisdom from the singer herself. That’s amazing… come to think of it, everyone, literally everyone has their set of inspiring quotes, so I’m kind of curious what could be Keys’ keys.

“There’s a gorgeous cuff, it’s so beautiful, and it says ‘I am a superwoman!’,” said a delighted Keys after launching the collection in New York this week.

Apparently for Keys, the progression from putting words with music, to inscribing jewelry, was natural.

“As a lyricist I love words and I love things that kind of … hit you so hard to the heart,” Keys said.

“I realised that this was another way to reach out to people and to really bring them inspiration in some way. If people tell me how much they love my music because it’s gotten them though a certain time in their life, I felt like this was an extension of music.”

The jewelry and accessories range from necklaces and earrings, to watches, cuffs and bracelets. The prices start from $85 to $2,500.

“My favourite part about them was not only were they individual, one of a kind, something you would really cherish and hold but the words on them affected me so personally, they uplifted me, it made me feel good, want to hold it and wear it like a mantra,” Keys said.

Meanwhile, “The Element of Freedom,” Keys’ new album is set for a December 15 release… though the ‘inspirational doesn’t go on sale until 2010.
