Sarah Parish New Face of Ortak Jewelry

Award-winning British actress and Mistresses star Sarah Parish has signed up to endorse top UK jewelry brand Ortak for 2011-2012.

Parish, 43, will be the center of Ortak’s new marketing campaign, which is set to launch across its fifteen UK stores and online (ortak.co.uk) this month.

The campaign will revolve around three main themes – Time to Play, Time to Shine and Time to Explore. Apparently it was inspired by the great outdoors, with pictures taken at the Suntrap Garden in Edinburgh.

”I was delighted when I was approached to become the Face of Ortak’s new 2011/2012 campaign – like most women I love jewelry but the level of craftsmanship that goes into each Ortak piece and the brand’s heritage makes it even more special,” Parish said.

“We had great fun on-location for the shoot and I really did fall in love with the new collections – I’ve already added a few pieces to my jewelry box and genuinely believe that there’s something in the new range for every taste and every occasion.”

“My personal favorite is Harvest – the bright shades are perfect for adding a splash of color to my autumn/winter wardrobe,” she added.

Jessica Alba for Piaget Jewelry Collection

Hollywood actress and dazzling beauty Jessica Alba will now dazzle us in yet another fashion – as the face of new jewelry collection Possession from Swiss luxury brand Piaget.

Piaget enlisted top photographer Patrick Demarchelier, known for his glamorous fashion photography and stunning portraiture, celebrity stylist and rising star Brad Goreski, make-up artist Lauren Andersen and hair stylist Renato Campora to get the imagery just right for the new collection.

The creative team has portrayed Alba in soft sweaters, sophisticated and bold leather jackets posing in an array of Possession jewelry.

The Possession range includes white, pink and yellow gold rings, pendants, bracelets, earrings and Possession Classique jewelry, Possession Bandeau jewelry, Possession Excentrique jewelry and Possession Entrelacée jewelry… that should just about cover it all, I guess.

Check out more photos of birthday girl (yep, she’s 30 today – April 28) Jessica enveloped in the intoxicating glamor of Piaget jewelry:

Sofia Vergara, Kmart Team Up for New Fashion Line

Sofia Vergara, the star of Modern Family, has teamed up with Kmart to offer something new to the modern woman – a brand new fashion line featuring clothing, footwear and jewelry.

The line will include daring miniskirts, jeggings, tight dresses and sultry tunics, obviously targeting the younger consumer, but will it affect Kmart’s position in any way?

The 38-year-old celebrity said the collection “doesn’t cross the line.”

“You have to realize that it’s me wearing it. You’ve just seen it on me,” Vergara clarified. “All the pieces are very wearable. And we have them in all sizes.”

The line is “comfortable, chic and affordable, and appealing to younger women looking for something a little more spicy”, according to Vergara.

In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Vergara explained that designing was “kind of natural” for her, adding that she had always been interested in clothes, makeup and beauty.

“I always dressed up. I wasn’t laid-back about it. I’m not lounging around in sweat clothes and flip-flops. Maybe a nice pair of sweats,” she added.

The word is that Vergara has signed a long-term contract but officials have not specified the terms. The contemporary line Sofia Vergara for Kmart is expected to hit retailers this Fall.

Alicia Keys Launches ‘Inspiring’ Jewelry Line

Grammy-winning R&B star Alicia Keys is stepping up on her music career by launching her own jewelry brand inscribed with inspirational messages.

Keys, 28, has collaborated with Canadian designer Gisele Theriault in a jewelry line called “The Barber’s Daughters” which features silver and gemstone pieces with quotes and poetry from iconic figures such as Gandhi, Buddha and Shakespeare.

Industry sources said that one of the items, a sterling silver cuff, is inscribed with words of wisdom from the singer herself. That’s amazing… come to think of it, everyone, literally everyone has their set of inspiring quotes, so I’m kind of curious what could be Keys’ keys.

“There’s a gorgeous cuff, it’s so beautiful, and it says ‘I am a superwoman!’,” said a delighted Keys after launching the collection in New York this week.

Apparently for Keys, the progression from putting words with music, to inscribing jewelry, was natural.

“As a lyricist I love words and I love things that kind of … hit you so hard to the heart,” Keys said.

“I realised that this was another way to reach out to people and to really bring them inspiration in some way. If people tell me how much they love my music because it’s gotten them though a certain time in their life, I felt like this was an extension of music.”

The jewelry and accessories range from necklaces and earrings, to watches, cuffs and bracelets. The prices start from $85 to $2,500.

“My favourite part about them was not only were they individual, one of a kind, something you would really cherish and hold but the words on them affected me so personally, they uplifted me, it made me feel good, want to hold it and wear it like a mantra,” Keys said.

Meanwhile, “The Element of Freedom,” Keys’ new album is set for a December 15 release… though the ‘inspirational doesn’t go on sale until 2010.
