Gucci has confirmed Stardust star Claire Danes as the new face its new fine jewelry campaign.
To be frank, I fell in love with Claire with Brokedown Palace (1999) and haven’t since missed a single opportunity to see her in a news show or in a movie… and now to see her in Gucci jewelry! Hmm… that ought to make Zahraine jealous.
Claire, now 29, will dazzle in a series of print campaigns for the Italian fashion house, taking over from Drew Barrymore, who acted as the spokesperson for the brand the last two years.
“Claire Danes is a modern icon. For me she is one of the most interesting young actresses on the international scene,” Gucci creative director Frida Giannini told fashionweekdaily.com. “She is very natural, fresh, and has a carefree attitude which can also be seen in the roles she has chosen. Claire’s sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent and strong character embodies today’s Gucci woman.”
And this is what Claire had to say: “I am thrilled and honored to be working with Gucci on their jewelry campaign. Frida is a very inspiring and creative woman. Her vision is extraordinary and I am excited to be a part of it.”
And oh, for Claire’s fans just like me, she recently finished filming her star role in Richard Linklater’s “Me and Orson Welles” in the UK. Wink.

I’ve been running this blog with an ear to the ground for over a year now, and if there’s one thing I can say for sure, it’s this: What the Hollywood stars or international celebrities wear is what makes the hottest list–whether diamonds, sunglasses, or diamond jewelry. Celebrity brands are hot with the public, and Paris Hilton is the undeniable queen of anything “that’s hot.”
So, it comes as no surprise that Abazias.com has a special line of Paris Hilton watches that can make any star struck fan swoon with delight. They all come with fashionably extravagant diamond-encrusted faces and multiple time zones, and, well…. with a matching Jet set price tag too.
The Paris Hilton Limited Edition has her classic pink watch with a total of 6.07 carats of pink diamonds. White diamonds are also used to complement and bring out the sparkle of this fashion watch with 1026 stones in all. It comes with a gold pave dial and an alligator strap. The price is an icy quarter of a million dollars.
If nothing in your wardrobe goes with pink, that’s okay. You can still get a canary yellow Paris Hilton Limited Edition watch. This one sports yellow canary diamonds instead of pink ones. It’s set in 18K solid gold with the gold pave dial and alligator strap. It’s priced at far less than the pink-diamond version: $150,000.
Other versions are available for those who only want to spend $100,000 on their watches. They have cute names like Cotton Candy and Snow White. They use white diamonds, near colorless. They also come with a gold pave dial and alligator strap.
Celebrity brands aren’t priced for the every day consumer, but for someone who is hobnobbing with the elite. The stars’ own fashion sense or tastes often dictate the styles created. The brands can rise and fall with the rise and fall of a star’s fortunes, although exactly how an event impacts the brand is not easily foreseen. In some cases, notoriety can even heighten a brand’s popularity, like in the case of P. Diddy’s arrests. So, despite Paris Hilton’s brush with the law, this probably has not put a dent in her ability to draw sales through her celebrity brands.

Reality TV socialite Nicole Richie has revealed that she’ll be launching her own jewelry brand.
The 26-year-old first-time mum has teamed up with Mouawad, the same name behind supermodel Heidi Klum’s jewelry line, to design a collection of mix ‘n’ match costume jewelry.
“It’s all costume jewelry. I like to play with jewelry and mix and match. I’m working with this really talented woman named Shelley Gibbs. She’s an artist and she sketches everything,” Richie told People Magazine.
“Everyone’s been really mellow and able to work around my schedule. If I need to go feed the baby, I do it.”
Talking about her newborn daughter Harlow Winter with boyfriend Joel Madden, Richie said, “She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose.”
Nicole is also an author, actress and singer, who’s also launching a children’s clothing line and insiders say a signature perfume is also in the works.

Hollywood actress Bridget Moynahan’s new campaign for jeweler Diamonair has just been published.
The campaign is indicative of the 40-year-old celebrity jeweler’s tradition of featuing Hollywood glamour.

“Bridget was a natural choice for the campaign. Her beauty transcends time, evoking memories of Fellini films and paying tribute to Diamonair’s history and revival,” said Kareem Sethi, CEO, Streetwise Capital Partner.
Diamonair is noted as the producers of the finest quaility cubic zirconia, and their jewelry can be found at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Moynahan, 36, is known for her roles in Hollywood films such as ‘Coyote Ugly’, ‘I, Robot’, ‘Lord of War’ and her latest ‘Noise II.’ As a model, she graced the covers of Elle, Vogue, Self, Fitness, New Woman and Glamour.
