Keeley Hawes, one of the busiest actresses in the UK, is the new face of the popular Boots No. 7 anti-aging serum.
Reports indicate that Boots Cosmetics saw the demand for No. 7 serum rising by 2000 percent after a BBC 1 report gave it high marks recently. Apparently they’re cashing in on that.

Hawes, who’s currently appearing in Ashes to Ashes, the sequel to Life on Mars on BBC, has been reported to be ‘gushing’ about the opp to represent the brand.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be working with No. 7 as the face of their advertising campaign,” said the 31-year-old actress, who will also be appearing in “Mutual Friends” later this year.
We hope to see Keeley in at least two movies this year– “The Bank Job” with Jason Stratham, followed by “Flashbacks of a Fool” opposite Daniel Craig.
Update:
As pointed out by Ann here, a photo of ’some other girl’ was uploaded for the real Keeley Hawes. The error is regretted. The following is the old pic, and would anyone tell me who’s this? Thanks.

What is the one thing the celebrities pictured above have in common? Well, I don’t really wish to confirm anything, but a little bit of Googling tells me they’ve all had botox injection treatments. Now, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. Matter of fact, a botox Manhattan center raves and rants about the positive face (pun unintended) of cosmetic injections.
While celebrities may have a purely commercial reason to undergo botox treatments, the rest of us may have other valid reasons. For instance, to many a younger looking appearance may translate into self-confidence, career advancements, better personal relationships, etc.
A “botox shot” simply means adminstering the Allergan Botox to relax facial muscles that cause wrinkling, and saying goodbye to those facial lines, especially the frown lines. The FDA approved the 10-minute treatment is said to be one of the most effective non-surgical methods to reduce signs of aging. What’s more, results are often noticeable within hours. Actress/singer/rapper Queen Latifah is the latest celebrity to front the Jenny Craig weight-loss plan.
Oscar-nominated star Queen Latifah, 37, will join the ranks of Kirstie Alley, Valerie Bertinelli, Monica Lewinsky and Cindy Williams by signing on to be the latest celebrity spokesperson for the weight-loss campaign of Jenny Craig.
“We are thrilled to have Queen Latifah support our mission of improving health by taking her first step toward achieving a more healthful lifestyle,” said Scott Parker, Jenny Craig’s VP, Marketing. “Queen Latifah joins forces with Jenny Craig to communicate the importance of how small lifestyle changes, in the areas of diet and exercise, can have positive effects on overall health.”
The ‘Hairspray’ star, well known for her fuller figure, will have a “very different campaign, focused on a healthier lifestyle, not on getting onto a specific dress size,” added Parker. The Jenny Craig program reportedly promotes healthy eating and exercise.
Former Jenny Craig spokesperson Bertinelli (“One Day At A Time”) allegedly lost 30 pounds, while Alley lost 75.

Tori Spelling, 34, has just landed her first job as a celebrity spokesperson–for the new NutriSystem Advanced program.
The “Beverly Hills 90210″ star obviously was a great choice for NutiSystem after losing 35lbs on their special diet plan following the birth of her first baby Liam with husband Dean McDermott nine months ago.
“I’ve heard about people on diets and you get a meal plan and you eat the same thing all the time. But with NutriSystem, there’s so much to choose from that it took me forever to go through everything and repeat. My favorite is the meat loaf,” Spelling said. “It didn’t feel like I was on a diet. It was convenient with the baby, and it tasted good. I want to enjoy my life right now, and I don’t want to feel like I can’t eat. It totally changed my body.”
“When I was young it’s always that thing - you can never be too thin,” she added. “Now that I’m in my 30s - I’m married, happy and have a baby - I realise I’m at a healthy weight. I don’t want to get any thinner. This is what looks good.”
Spelling’s campaigns, shot in San Diego recently, will start appearing on TV and in celebrity and women’s magazines next month.
Dieters who sign up to the program will receive $300 a month specially prepared meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, and will also get unlimited access to weight-loss trained counsellors.

“Yoga is a metaphor for life. You have to take it really slowly. You can’t rush. You can’t skip to the next position. You find yourself in very humiliating situations, but you can’t judge yourself. You just have to breathe, and let go. It is a workout for your mind, your body and your soul.”–Madonna
This should come as no surprise. Health pundits have over and over again stressed that yoga is adds to the credibility of celebrities while also helping change their image from a yo-yo dieting celebrity to someone who’s responsible enough to spend time on their own health.
And the list of celebs practising yoga is grwowing. ModelSophie Anderton is well-known fan of yoga practices. Other top celebs include Naomi Watts, Ricky Martin , Meg Ryan, Sting and his wife Trudie, Jerry Seinfeld, Jennifer Lopez, Nicolas Cage and Gwyneth Paltrow, to name a few.
Says Meg Ryan: “I started yoga about five years ago. I will say, definitely, it changed my life. It made me calmer. It puts you right in the place of witness — which is great.”
No wonder then that global celebrities Christy Turlington, Russell Simmons, Sting and Donna Karan participated in yoga-inspired events of UN’s Peace Day in LA last month. The 12-hour programme included yoga trance dance, meditation, Kundalini yoga pose, 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar, mandala creation and kirtan.
Yoga journal surveys estimate that about 16 million people practise yoga in the US alone and the market for yoga is worth $3 billion.
Finally, a tip from author and model Christy Turlington: Do yoga regularly and you might just get “the yoga butt.”

At 43, Clive Owen is the new face of Lancôme’s anti-aging skincare line as well as its new men’s fragrance, Hypnôse Homme.
Owen, I’ve been told, is the typical tall, dark and handsome man every woman dreams about. My ex girlfriend used to rave and rant that his ‘brooding’ looks are so ‘cute.’ One wouldn’t expect such a ‘character’ to care much about aging, would one?
“To tell you the truth, I didn’t use to really,” Clive laughs. “I do much more now. Besides, in the last few years, things have changed. Men have started to care about and protect their skin, and they are much more comfortable with it.”
The Oscar nominated actor, however, admitted he felt the fibre of the print ads and commercials campaign fitted the dark and subtle characters many associate him with.
“It’s very in keeping with what I’ve been doing,” he says. “The campaign is classy and everything produced is of high calibre. I feel confident and comfortable, and am flattered to have been asked to do this.
“I am lucky to have an amazing wife and family,” says Owen, who’s been married to Sarah-Jane Fenton for 12 years and has two daughters aged six and nine. “All this wouldn’t mean anything if I didn’t have family to share it with.”
Is it his down-to-earth personality or his concept of what’s beauty that makes Owen appealing to all?
“It’s not just about looks,” he says. “It’s about who the person is. And it is not about trying to hold on desperately to your age. You should embrace aging.”
Reports hint that it was Owen’s meticulous choice of the characters he’d play that led to Lancôme selecting him as their spokesman.
UPDATE
Adria thinks Gerard Butler could be a strong contender for a similar high-end line.
I really have no idea if he’s already representing any brand, but I did read that the “tall, dark and handsome Gerard cuts quite a dashing figure, and with his charming Scottish accent, he’s considered quite a catch amongst the ladies… ”
However, no one is sure if he’s single or spoken for, as he makes a mighty effort to keep his private life to himself.
Come to think of it, he does look a bit like Clive, doesn’t he?

A couple of months ago, I wrote a post on some statistics of plastic/cosmetic surgeries undergone by celebrities. However, that list comprised mostly operations of the nose, eyelids and lips. Well, just a few hours ago, I was all thumbs viewing a site that gave out the ultimate hard facts on celebrity plastic surgery.
There could be some amount of speculation–as there always is in anything pertaining to famous names–but the fact remains that showbiz is what it is… showbiz.
From Carmen Electra, Heather Locklear, Heidi Montag and Gisele Bundchen to Adriana Lima, Shannon Elizabeth, Brooke Burke (of course) and Tiffani Thiessen and Salma Hayek have all had breast implants. (Let’s not forget Pamela Anderson here… who added an almost historic touch to the male fantasy.)
The one aspect that I do understand why they’re willing to be under the knife pertains to the fact that they can’t let down their producers when their movies are still in the spotlight. On the other hand, maybe they don’t want to let down their fans.
Or maybe they can’t imagine growing old and getting photographed with their sagging breasts. Or maybe, even in their own minds, they exist in the minds of others. But then, that would their personal life and preferences.
All I can say is that, at the very least, they glorify life. And some of us need that incentive to continue to live and dream.
