Let me start off with a confession — I’m getting tired of seeing celebrity photos in glamour shots and images from their movies and ads. I mean the promotional media is so constantly trying to boost their image that they start losing their human touch. I love seeing their everyday photos and watching interviews where they actually appear like ordinary human beings — like me.

I was asked to review for a celebrity images website, and I said, “Oh God, the cosmetic life again.” But thankfully I was mistaken. It’s a site with loads of IIFA pictures (International Indian Film Awards) taken during a charity cricket match held in Leeds, UK last month.

High resolution images of quite a few of the top Bollywood celebrities are featured just as they appear in real life–Kabir Bedi, Akshay Khanna, Rakesh Roshan, Shilpa Shetty, the Bachchans, Mansi Scott, Bipasha Basu and of course, Diya Mirza at the IIFA 2007.

A total of 126 photos are available for your viewing pleasure at the moment. Now, everyone knows that the cameraman is the key person who captures a star’s best looks, expressions and profiles. And that’s precisely what’s great about these photographs. Look at the profiles of the stars carefully… almost every photo captures from a sharp angle, presenting some of the never-before-seen profiles of your favourite stars, while still showing them as they appear in ‘normal’ life. You can view the pictures in their high res – 1028×680, but the files are not humongous, so you don’t have to wait forever.

There’s quite some interactivity built in too — comment on the photos, rate them, send them to your buddies as e-cards and even download.
