Reports go that two-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Amanda Beard was quite successful in raising animal rights awareness at the Beijing Olympics by showing off her nude PETA poster at the Games.
“Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin. Don’t Wear Fur”, the message from Amanda was just the right message to spread in China — which is where most fur originates. For the sake of their skins, animals such as minks, foxes, dogs and even cats are kept in tiny wire cages in extreme climates.
“I have seen a lot of the videos, and [it] brings me to tears,” Amanda said. “What [some people] think is pretty is actually something that’s very gruesome and gross.”
The 27-year-old hottie, who Playboy called the ‘world’s sexiest athlete’, pledged that she would rather go nude than slaughter an animal to wear as fashion.
That’s a great job, Amanda. It makes sense that the only way to prevent such horrific cruelty is never to wear any fur. I’ll stick with you like skin.
