Christina Applegate has stepped out of her way (and her clothes) to convince holiday buyers not to buy fur during the gift giving season.
In support of animal rigts group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the vegetarian actress wears nothing but a pair of festive gloves, a necklace and a smile in an e-card. Her campaign slogan goes, “Cross cruelty off your shopping list by avoiding fur coats, collars and cuffs – unless it’s fake of course.”
Addressing those planning on buying a fur item for a gift, the Sweetest Thing star tells PETA: “They make really great synthetic fur—you really don’t need real fur. And it’s cheaper, so why spend the money?
“The holidays are also a time when people freak out about their finances. If you don’t want to spend the money, why not try some of the other options instead of killing a bunch of animals?”
Christina, who is a vegetarian and animal lover told PEOPLE that her house ‘has been basically a zoo’ since childhood. She said, “Everything I have has dog hair on it, and that’s just the way it is.”
The 35-year-old actress, who’s currently starring in the new hit show ‘Samantha Who?’, also said she decided to become a vegetarian while she was still a teenager on the set of her U.S. TV sitcom, “Married…With Children.”
“I realized I can’t eat something that has been alive. So I stopped, and that was it. That was the last time,” she added.
Christina joins the ranks of Alicia Silverstone, Alyssa Milano, Maggie Q and Dominique Swain in stripping off for the charity movement.

She says she turned vegan because she could not eat anything previously alive, whatever!!! So prove to me that plants, vegetables etc…have not lived!! eat me you freekin so called celeb!! get a grip and get a life other than your own…many people in the North depend on furs for $$$ Ie: food…geez what a shallow wussie!!

everyone who has written anything on here are the ones that need to get a life!!!! everyone who agrees with fur and wears and supports fur are selfish arragant stupid people, you don’t deserve the life you have because you don’t respect the fact that animals deserve life too…just imagine if we kept you in filthy battery cages, beat you with shockers and metal rods, shunned you and stood on you breaking or your ribs making you so weak that you cannot move, then ripping of the skin from your head downwards, whilst you can still feel and see everything…now tell me that you’re ok with fur!!!! i support everyone campaigning against fur, do it for the innocent lives being lost by selfish people that will go to hell for this! support the campaign go anti-fur!!! and infact you’re all the idiots with your selfish comments! you bunch of selfish loosers!
and anyway how dare you slag and make fun or mock christina applegate for what she’s doing…at least she can get off her ass and do something towards animal cruelty..what the hell are all of you lot doing???? yeh exactly absalutely NOTHING!!!!!! so shut up!!!
