Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank has signed with Pantene to become the new face of ‘Pantene Beautiful Lengths’ Charity.
The Pantene drive is aimed at supporting women who’ve lost their hair in the course of treatment for cancer. Hilary will encourage people to grow their hair, cut it off and then donate it to create wigs for women who’ve lost their hair.
And she’s getting personally involved in the campaign in terms of cut her own locks for the cause.
“I have lost multiple family members to cancer and witnessed their struggle first hand,” Hilary said in a statement. “I’ve never heard of anything quite like Pantene Beautiful Lengths, and I’m proud to be asked to promote the goals of such a unique and heartfelt program.”
According to femalefirst.co.uk, a recent study revealed that 58 percent of women consider hair loss to be the most dreaded side effect they face when undergoing chemotherapy.
Pantene has partnered with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to launch the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign which will start early 2008.
Now… isn’t that a noble thing to do? To inspire confidence? At any level?
How many of us choose to sacrifice anything for the sake of a stranger… even for monetary gain? I wouldn’t.
All I’m saying is that there are still some people in the world who do that. Only the ones who are so full of life that they can share it with another.
