Dutch supermodel Frederique van der Wal has been announced the new face of Swedish dermal filler Restylane, used for correction of aging skin. The 37-year-old fashion veteran will appear in major Restylane campaigns and will also serve as the product’s spokesperson.

“Restylane is a product I truly believe in,” said the former Victoria’s Secret model, according to a source.

“Maintaining a youthful appearance is vital to my career, so I was excited to find a natural, non-invasive treatment that can safely erase some of the fine lines I’ve recently started to notice. With a procedure like Restylane, I can make subtle improvements where and when I need to without worrying about side effects or recovery time.”

Restylane is excited about having a Frederique as a spokesperson. “Her enthusiasm for the product coupled with her immense success in the modeling and entertainment industries and great personality make her a natural choice for us,” said Jonah Shacknai, Chairman and CEO of Medicis.

Restylane or Juvéderm?Restylane and Juvederm are competing cosmetic injections used to fill out facial creases and wrinkles. Restylane has been around for more than a couple of years and has just started creating some brand loyalty. Jevederm was recently approved by the FDA and has started an aggressive marketing campaign to compete with Restylane. Juvederm is giving away their product for free in their promotions and they’ve invited doctors to enroll up to 10,000 patients in this free giveaway. The idea is to make Juvederm a household name shoulder to shoulder with the blockbuster Botox.
