HBO series ‘Big Love’ star Chloë Sevigny has launched her debut capsule collection ‘Opening Ceremony’ at the New York Fashion Week.
Chloë talked openly about her style, explaining it has been imporrtant to her all her life.
“From kindergarten on I wouldn’t let my mother dress me. I had very specific tastes, and refused to put on anything she wanted me to wear. I was really into clothes, often kind of outrageous, not quite typical kid-wear, like hats and things,” the 33-year-old Academy and Golden Globe-nominated actress said.
‘Opening Ceremony’ — or ‘Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony’ to be precise — is said to be a collection for hip boutique and Chloë describes the line as, “very body-conscious, and kind of a mish-mash.”
‘Why didn’t this happen sooner?’ appears the kind of question everyone’s brooding over, but it was only when Humberto Leon, boutique editor, learned of Chloë’s inclination, he made the contract.
“In the beginning I was really excited. I had a lot of ideas and I went in with a lot of sketches,” Chloë said. “And then the fear started to set in: What if it doesn’t work? What if people don’t like it? I started really doubting myself.”
“I think my favorite part of the process will be when I see a girl walking down the street in the clothes,” she added.
Now, that day shouldn’t be far off, considering Sevigny’s collection will be available at Selfridges next month!
