Emma Watson: The Next Chanel Girl?

The Daily Mail has reported that Emma Watson will most likely be unveiled as the new face of Chanel in a worldwide deal.

Would that be surprising? Not to me. After all, Emma, who plays Harry Potter’s sidekick Hermione, was voted ahead of Kate Moss and Keira Knightley as Britain’s leading female role model in a magazine poll held earlier this year.

Is Emma’s magical spell on the teen market over the years just getting stronger? emma_tatler.jpgEmma, 17, is this month’s cover girl for Tatler. The character in her face, a naturally tiny waist and a winning smile add up to a formidable force–something exactly that Chanel is looking for. She even wore some outrageously expensive Chanel and Sonia Rykiel dresses for the magazine’s photo shoot.

Whatever Chanel is lining up for Emma, it will only add to her burgeoning net worth–estimated to be £8 million already. But Chanel should have no reason to complain. After all, didn’t they cough up $12 million (£5.9 million) to Nicole Kidman to appear in a Chanel commercial?

By the way, Emma’s fans might want to check out her official website, just launched: http://www.emmawatsonofficial.com. Lotsa fun info, if you’re a Hermione fan. Perhaps even if you’re not.
