Fashion house Balenciaga has chosen actress Jennifer Connelly to be the face for its Spring/Summer 2008 collection.
The 37-year-old Oscar-winner showed up for last night’s premiere of ‘Reservation Road’ sporting something typically uncharacteristic for her: head to toe Balenciaga dress.
Jennifer is seen showcasing Nicolas Ghesquière’s sculptural floral-printed designs in the house’s spring campaign by shot by British photographer David Sims. The campaign is scheduled to break fashion magazines next month.
Apparently, designer Nicolas Ghesquiere is a die-hard fan of Connelly.
“It’s the friendship: That’s why she did the campaign,” Ghesquière said of Connelly. “I’ve been after her for a few years now.”
Well, now, this is all so cool, plus I’m a huge fan of Jennifer, too. But what strikes me about the designs is… Jennifer looks like she’s from Venus! Ugh! Is it me, or has fashion evolved so much when I was not looking?
