Escada tossed a cool $5 million to open a new 6,000-square-foot store in Beverly Hills. It all seemed worthwhile on the opening night brought out a sparkling of stars flaunting gorgeous frocks and gowns, some from creative director Damiano Biella’s debut collection.

Hilary Swank co-hosted the opening ceremonies of the stylish boutique with Vogue, and Maria Bello, Sophia Bush, Angela Bassett, Amerie, Jewel, Ugly Betty’s Anna Ortiz and other Hollywood women all wore Escada designs.
The store, which took five months and $5 million to complete, has allocated more space to Escada’s accessories collection–nearly 25 percent of the space. While 14 rooms are dedicated to the brand’s collection of ready-to-wear, couture, accessories, and sports line, a VIP room sits in the back, complete with a flat-screen TV and a seating area for big spenders to cool off.
French disco music, which blared the evening away, did some justice to the theme of the party — “Club Escada.” Also complementing the Euro music, was the interior of the store, bedecked with black and white and chandeliers.
The deep purple, along with silver and black are said to be part of the company’s attempt to evoke a youthful energy, rather than resort to the brand’s formerly staid fixture colors of off white and gold.

This was more than evident based on the number of Hollywood’s pretty young things who toasted the new store. Sophia Bush chose a chocolate brown, boat neck shift, while Melissa George wore a crisp white suit and luminescent and pregnant Naomi Watts wore an off the shoulder eggplant dress that matched one of the colors in the glittering new boutique.
