Dior China Pulls Sharon Stone Campaign

Not surprised. Are you? Sharon Stone might have tried to pull back her controversial remarks on the Sichuan earthquake, but that was quite not enough for Dior China to pull off her Dior campaigns.

Dior China said this morning that it’s taking off and recalling all advertisements featuring Stone. Reports say that citizens were ripping down billboards in several locations.

So what was it that Stone said that is causing an uproar in the fashion world? Apparently, it was just this: “I’ve been concerned with how we should deal with the Olympics, because they are not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine.

“And then all this earthquake and all this stuff happened and I though, is that karma – when you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?”

Hmmm… that’s pretty strong, I think. Kinda stuck-up, in the typical basic instinct style, if you know what I mean.

No one has a right to be judgmental about Nature. I don’t think we can, or the right to, decide Nature. She decides us.

And if, and when, a time does arrive when we dictate Nature… I just don’t want to be there.
