Beg, Borrow or Covet

Come September, Sarah Jessica Parker will launch her second perfume named Covet T.L., after Lovely. The perfume will be totally oposite to Lovley, with more nocturnal athmosphere and is said to represent the ‘vixen’ side of the ‘Sex and the City’ star.
Sarah Jessica Parker to launch ‘Covet’The advertisement represents SJP in a Christian Lacroix dress after she has been jailed in Paris for not being able top resist the temptation of stealing a bottle of Covet. Apparently, she’s smashed the glass of the window display with her stiletto shoe: “I had to have it!”.

Covet, created with Ann Gottlieb and Firmenich, is described as a “fougère on estrogen” as fougere is traditionally considered to be a fresh aromatic masculine accord. Note that Ann Gottlieb is a nose and perfume consultant well-known for her flair for producing best-sellers — Obssession, J’Adore, Euphoria, 5th Avenue …

The new Covet by Sarah Jessica ParkerTrue to her word, Parker is launching a perfume that represents the “bad-girl” side of her that she was not able to express with Lovely, which represents her “well-behaved” side. She had said in the past that she regretted not being able to create a dirtier scent where Lovely was concerned.

Hmmm… we’ve all seen different faces of ‘dirty’, but I’m not sure if the ad conveys anything ‘dirty.’ If anything, all it says plainly is ‘Sarah Jessica Parker, a fragrance felon’.

In any case, Parker has gone on record she she wanted a bit aggressive conotation, adding she does not yearn for material things anymore. Things she currently ‘covets’ are sleep and additional time she could spend with family.
